That's right, pocket dimensions! By making a simple riftway in your minecraft world, you can gain access to your very own inter-dimensional space to build or store whatever you'd like!
Update Notes
Release 4
- Upon a server restart/exiting the world, riftways should now be persistent and still function properly.
- Making riftways has changed! You now need an ender pearl and a diamond, instead of a nether star and ender eye.
- Pocket Dimensions can be upgraded! You start out with an 8x8x8 area; throwing in an ender eye upgrades it to a 16x16x16 area, and a nether star upgrades it to full size! Existing pocket dimensions are considered full-size still :)
- Pocket dimensions now have visible corners to give a slight sense of the room you're working with without feeling too enclosed!
- Added an "uninstall" function! /function pocket_dimensions:_uninstall, to uninstall the datapack. Then you can safely remove the file from the datapacks folder. Everyone in the world will be teleported to the center, including from the end! This is to make sure no one gets stuck in their pocket dimensions, because that would be bad!
(I'll be adding gif tutorials soon, I'm currently having software issues at the moment!)
Setup
Thanks to resistance_is_futile, everything should set up automatically when you install the datapack! Just remember to type /reload if it doesn't set up the first time.
Riftways
After setting up the datapack, you'll need to create a riftway to enter your pocket dimension. To do so, you'll need a few materials; one chiseled quartz block, a diamond, and the key ingredient: an ender pearl!
To build a riftway, first place down your chiseled quartz block, then throw your ender pearl and diamond on top. In a split second, a rift between dimensions should appear right before your eyes! After that, all you need to do is walk in and wait a few seconds, and you'll be taken to your very own pocket dimension!
To exit your pocket dimension, just walk into the riftway in your pocket dimension, and you'll be taken back to the riftway you entered in the overworld!
Final Notes
This datapack has been designed to be multiplayer-compatible; each player should have access to their own pocket dimension, similar to how each player has access to their own Ender Chest inventory.
