This pack introduces a new respawning mechanic that makes dying more of a punishment instead of just being an inconvenience. When you die, you lose 2 full hearts of maximum health. If you die at 2 maximum health, you are put into Spectator Mode. Plus, your hunger does not refill all the way: it drains all the way back down to where it was before. It will leave you at least 6 hunger (3 full haunches).

If you die, there is a way to regain hearts: golden apples. If you're below 20 maximum health, a golden apple will restore 2 maximum hearts. An enchanted golden apple will restore you to 20 maximum health no matter how many times you've died. If you use an apple to restore maximum health, you will not be granted absorption.
