To use this, you will also need SWorld.

What's this?

This datapack changes how dungeons are generated. It uses SWorld's functions to scan for vanilla dungeons (by looking for spawners) and replace them with a new design. The current design used by SDungeon is simply a structure of 9 random rooms in a 3x3 grid, although that may change in the future. The rooms are generated based on the world's seed and the coordinates of the room, so just like with vanilla structures, if you have two worlds with the same seed, the dungeons will look exactly the same.

Plans for future versions

  • Add more different rooms
  • Allow different dungeon layouts, rather than just the 3x3 grid
  • Use different loot tables for the chests

Credits

Cravol - The dungeon design comes from one of his videos.

It would be great if you added corridors and large rooms

Yeah, that's the plan for a future update, but I want to wait for 1.15 as I might switch to the new data storage and that might break stuff, and I'd rather not add more features that can be broken by that

i've been waiting for something like this. only issue i have is that, after some testing, i found that it overwrites existing dungeons so if you have a mob farm built around a spawner it will be destroyed. any way to work around this? also, the structure block isn't removed after the dungeon spawns in.

For the mob farm issue: I don't think there's a good way to check whether someone has built around the spawner, so I'm afraid there won't be a workaround.

For the structure block issue: It should, could you send me the seed and coordinates so I can look into it?

so is there maybe a way to only check for spawners in new chunks? sorry if i'm asking stupid questions. anyway, i used a backup of my save so it's in a chunk that's been previously loaded and that i've built around. also, where it spawned, the redstone block and structure block happened to spawn directly beside a redstone torch that i had placed there. don't know if any of that might effect it.

seed: 8949426883350950699
coords: -522 69 -68 ish

I just realized that there is some sort of workaround for when you install the datapack; you can mark the chunk where the spawner is as "checked" before installing and the datapack will skip it (thinking it has already been checked), simply go to the chunk where the spawner is and do /forceload add ~ ~

I don't know of any way to limit myself to chunks that were already generated, only how to limit myself to chunks that haven't been checked before by the datapack, and I don't think there is a way to do that at all.

And yes, it seems to have been caused by the torch, as there doesn't seem to be any issue when I do it on my pc.
