This data pack makes your entire inventory locked, and you need to get certain items or do certain things to unlock a slot. In the beginning, it 's easy, but after you unlocked your hotbar you will need 27 additional diamond blocks to unlock your entire inventory.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.:
Place the data pack into your datapacks folder in the desired save.
2.:
Type "/reload".

For some reason I cannot use the data pack. I placed it into the folder "datapacks" in my world, tried reloading a couple times and it did not work. I tried unzipping the folder and it did not help either.

Wow! This is amazing, I might just use it in an adventure map so players have a limit to the amount of items they can have!

Why dont you make the block in locked slots be stained glass panes, so the slot can just be red, or a barrier block cause its literally the no symbol

Because originally the barrier was the item, but you can still place it down in survival, and use it for climbing or something like that, and the only 2 blocks I know that have no uses in survival are the command block and the structure block.

detect if the player is holding the item then put them in adventure mode
then detect if the player is NOT holding the item then put them in survival mode
