This data pack works in versions 1.16.2 to 1.16.5. Playing this data pack in any other versions will most likely cause it to not work!
As of V1.3 this datapack has some multiplayer support. There will probably be some major bugs, so please let me know about them.
If you are using spigot try and use this plugin to allow custom dimensions to work (thanks Samplayz2007 for bringing this plugin to my attention): https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/1-16-custom-dimensions.83731/
Solar system adds 85 new dimensions and 186 new biomes corresponding to planets, moons, and dwarf planets. These new dimensions can be accessed through either using commands or through building the new space portal. The goal of solar system is to both entertain, and, hopefully, teach players new things about the solar system they didn't know. It is important to know that solar system is not entirely realistic, many things have been exaggerated.
In order to survive being in space you have to be wearing full netherite armor, or any of the better than netheright armors this pack adds.
Use the command /function solarsystem:items to give yourself a chest with all of Solar System's Items
This datapack adds a ton of new content, because of this I decided to make a wiki for me and other players to edit and read to learn about this data pack.

Things I want to add in the future:
In the next update, if I ever get to doing it will probably completely revamp the space hub and significantly improve it.
I'm toying with the idea of maybe removing some dimensions that are effectively clones. These moons/dwarf planets would be visible in the hub, but they would be unvisitable and there names would be red or something. I want to do this because by removing these clones I would make the datapack smaller, make it easier to add new systems, and also barrly effect gameplay. So I'm wonder what you think about me doing this?
Space stations.
Trophies for visiting all of an object’s biomes.
Brand new ores: I would love to add ores like sulfur, titanium, nickel, etc. But because custom blocks that use player heads on armor stands uses a lot of entities, that would cause way too much lag. I might be able to fix that though.

3 Update Logs
V1.3 : by Genesect_EX 10/24/2020 1:33:56 pmOct 24th, 2020
- Added the robot system
- Added three mobs: robot, robot data analyst, and military robot.
- Added many new structures, some built by, and others destroyed by the robots.
- Added three sets of armor dropped by their corresponding robots, the strongest being military robot armor and it’s a lot better than netherite.
- Added two weapons, the laser pistol and rifle, both using redstone as ammunition. They both can convert redstone blocks into redstone dust when needed.
- Robots, The Robots are a mysterious civilization focused on research and mining there solar system to build up their dyson swarm. Robots can be found in every planet of their solar system that you can visit, even the gas giants. Robots can be found wandering around the surfaces of these planets and moons, but are most commonly found in their buildings. You can provoke the robots by killing them or stealing from them, giving you a wanted level. Be careful, they have a massive military that hasn't been used in centuries and they won't have mercy. It is strongly recommended to use potions or beacons when fighting them.
- The generic robots, simply named “Robot” are the most common type of robot. These robots carry laser pistols and deal a lot of damage. They also were an armor that is stronger than netherite, so watch out.
- Data analysts robots have a 10% chance of replacing a regular robot when a structure spawns and can be found frequently in data centers. These robots carry laser pistols and deal a lot of damage. They also were an armor that is even stronger than the generic robots’.
- Military robots are the strongest type and can be found rarely in structures and most commonly at high wanted levels. At a wanted level of four or more they will start destroying stone bricks, glass, and iron doors around them in an attempt to get to the player.
- Added Five machines, machines are custom blocks that can interact with the world in different ways, in order to craft all machines but the air generator you need to first discover the recipe. Currently the only place to find recipes is rarely in Robot barrels.
- The air generator is crafted out of three netherite ingots, a furnace, and an iron bar and is the only block that doesn't require first discovering it’s recipe to craft it. When it's activated, it allows you to breathe without wearing a spacesuit in a radius of 25 blocks, the radius is doubled when on a planet with a barely breathable atmosphere (usually planets with life). The air generator is powered by feeding it plant material, much like composters.
- The graviton producer is crafted out of four netherite ingots, four gold blocks, and a beacon. The graviton producer when powered using redstone uses up redstone dust stored in its inventory to increase the gravity in a 50 block radius by +0.1g for a minute. This effect can be stacked by repetitively activating the machine allowing a maximum increase in gravity of +600g. The graviton producer can be used as a weapon by increasing gravity to the point of players being slowed, blinded, and even damaged.
- The graviton reducer is crafted out of four netherite ingots, four shulker shells, and a beacon. The graviton reducer is much like the graviton producer but it instead reduces gravity by 90% per activation and can be stacked with the effects of the graviton producer.
- The block placer is crafted out of six netherite ingots, a quartz block, beacon, and dispenser. When powered the block placer places whatever block is in it’s inventory. The block placer is very powerful on it’s own, but is even more powerful when used with the block smasher.
- The block smasher is crafted out of six netherite ingots, an observer, creeper head, and dispenser. When powered with gunpowder in it’s inventory the block smasher consumes one gunpowder and will smash the next eight blocks put in front of it. Powering it again will reset the uses back to eight. For most blocks, the block smasher just breaks it, but for some blocks it instead “transmutes'' them. Some important transmutations are cobblestone into gravel, gravel into sand, logs into planks, planks into sticks, and my favorite, magma blocks into lava allowing for EZ obsidian generators. The block smasher is very powerful on it’s own, but is even more powerful when used with the block placer.
- Reworked gravity
- You now accelerate downwards as you fall!
- You now only jump higher when holding shift.
- Jumping is much smoother.
- You now take damage and experience effects from extreme gravity. Only works when in survival.
- You now take fall damage.
- When taking damage and the gravity not being 1g knock back is disabeled to prevent the player from being flung into the air.
- Multiplayer compatibility
- I’ve experimented with getting multiplayer to work with the data pack and so far everything major is working for LAN, so it should work for other forms of multiplayer. Just know that there will probably be a lot of glitches, so please report them.
- Tweaks
- Removed the blindness effect from the space hub.
- The space hub now saves from where you last where.
- Removed some moons too small to be gravitationally rounded.
- Added Tethys to the space hub, it's one of Saturn's moons I forgot about.
- Added multiple tips.
- When using the return trigger the player is now sent to the nearest space portal in render distance.
- Added the command /function solarsystem:items, which gives you a chest with all of solarsystem’s items.
- Bug Fixes
- Now when the space portal is unable to send you to the hub dimension it sends an error instead of causing massive lag and ruining the world.
- Fixed some places not having the proper gravity.

2. Build a portal shaped like a minimum sized nether portal out of blocks of netherite instead of obsidian
3. Light the portal with a flint and steel
You should then be able to enter the portal; from there you will be prompted to choose which world you want to travel to.
Solarsystem had a massive amount of scope creep which ultimately lead to there being 85 different worlds you could visit, but most had no reason to visit them. The only solutions that I can come up with would require me to significantly reduce the scope of solarsystem down to just a half dozen worlds. Which would be a good thing, quality over quantity 'n all, but I just wasn't feeling inspired enough to come up with any great ideas to make each of the worlds feel distinct which lead me to stop development.
I'm not sure if I will ever restart development on solarsystem. If Mojang ever adds datapack support for custom blocks and items, I would likely restart development on solarsystem, but for now I can say that solarsystem v2.0 will likely never be finished.
