FEATURES
Soul Wand
To start off your journey, you'll need to obtain the Soul Wand. You need to put a trapdoor on a cauldron on a soul campfire on soul sand. I probably could've said it in a simpler way, but it is what it is. Once you set that up, all you gotta to is to throw in a stick in the cauldron, close the trapdoor, and you wait one minute. If you open the cauldron while the souls are absorbed by the stick, a bunch of souls are going to escape the cauldron, and you'll have to close it back to start all over again and wait one minute. Once it's ready, the trapdoor will break and unleash a bunch of souls out of the cauldron and epically reveal the soul wand that has been created. This process is demonstrated in the video, so if you're confused, go watch it.
Once you got the wand, hooray, you can basically do everything in this datapack with it! If you attack something (instakill won't work) while holding the soul wand (can be in the offhand or mainhand), the mob that was attacked will now get its soul released whenever it dies. To obtain the soul that escaped, just get close to it and it'll be preserved inside you, ready to be used with your wand. You can sneak while holding the soul wand to check how many souls you have.
You can right click the soul wand while having souls, and it'll shoot out a soul to inflict the wither effect to mobs that were hit by it. If you right click when you have an empty bottle in your mainhand, in return you will condense a soul and put it inside the bottle. You're now able to consume the soul and use its powers for a short amount of time. Brutal, but pretty cool. You can't blame them for flailing around inside the bottle, I'm sure they don't wanna be eaten, and so do you.
Soul Hound
What's coolest in my opinion about this is that you can get several souls and create a being that is fully made of them. I'll explain how it can be done.
When you attack any variant of a skeleton with a soul wand, not only will they get their soul to escape, but they also have a chance of dropping a Corrupted Bone. While holding it in the mainhand and using the soul wand when you have 10 souls, you will summon a Soul Hound. It's a wolf that is created nothing but with souls. You can tame it by dropping the corrupted bone on it.
The soul hound has a much faster speed and stronger attack damage than a normal wolf, so they can be more useful during battles. They also glow in the dark, so you can easily spot them if you're lost in a dark place. However, there is a few disadvantages. You probably don't want to name any of them and remember them as good pets, because they'll disappear in 3 minutes after being summoned. The only way to keep them for longer is to give them more souls. Each soul used on a soul hound will give it 10 more seconds to stay. So if you decide to summon a bunch of soul hounds and name every single one of them, you will be crying for approximately 7 days. They'll also vanish if they touch water and can't get in boats in water safely either, so better be careful about that.
Soul Crown
Last but.. I'm not sure if I can say it's not the least because it has the least features, but THE LAST ONE :)) The crafting recipe is provided in the video and the image gallery. The soul crown has a beautiful appearance, with some gold at the front and soul fire constantly burning at the top of your head. It acts like a turtle helmet, and gives you 20 seconds of fire resistance whenever you get in fire or lava. Not the most reliable way to survive them, but certainly better than nothing.
That's all there is for this datapack, I hope you enjoy and have a nice rest of your Summer!

Please don't force the usage of OptiFine.
I might try to make it so that Optifine isn't needed, but it can be pretty complicated.
I'm gonna use it in my hardcore world.
I'm gonna share the hardcore "modpack" after I settled with a good amount of datapacks and textures
(btw great datapack!)
