Entirely a vanilla Minecraft Data Pack for 1.14.4+

Telebeacon: allows teleportation between identical beacons.

The more expensive the beacon's pyramid, the better the telebeacon will function.

Cheap iron-based telebeacons will hurt the player who teleports through it, with the cheapest level-1 being fatal without magic-damage protection, and the most expensive level-4 iron beacons causing only mild hunger and nausea.

Gold of course is better than iron, diamond even better, with emerald being the best.

The most expensive emerald pyramid-based telebeacons (level-4) even allow teleportation to different dimensions. To prevent players from teleporting out of The End before they kill the dragon, the datapack will prevent the activation of an emerald beacon in the End so long as the dragon still lives.

=======================

If you enjoy this datapack, please give it some love with diamonds and favorites >^_^<

Hello, for some reason trans-dimensional teleportation doesn't seem to work for me. I built two copies of the largest type of beacon pyramid with emeralds, and I even got messages in the chat saying the beacon was primed for trans-dimensional teleportation. However, when I stood at either one, it would simply teleport me somewhere in the same dimension that the beacon is in. Any help?

Greetings! I am afraid that I have found the same problem as Bazlok when trying to install your data pack in a 1.14.4 world. I have the .zip in the datapacks folder, I have extracted it directly into the datapacks folder, I have extracted it into a sub folder named telebeacon, I have renamed both the zip and the file to first telebeacon and then a to see if that helped, like it helped Bazlok. No use. The datapack appears as enabled, even twice when I had both the folder and the zip, but there are no messages when I place down a valid beacon, nor anything happens when I stand in the middle of one of the beams, in survival nor in creative. I have no other datapacks, only a couple mods, and exactly the same happens in a fresh new world. I recall your last answer to this problem was tye renaming trick. Soooo... I'm just checking if you know of amy other solutions, seeing how the previous fix you suggested apparently doesn't do its magic for me...
In addition, providing I get it to work, would there be any "easy" way to get rid of all adverse effects? I just want the beacon teleporters as a "Songs of war" like waypoint system that has no downsides.
Thanks in advance for your time!

Hi Bunkeror, I can only imagine it’s a matter of properly installing the datapack... maybe I could join your server and check some of the objectives and commands and see if I can pinpoint what’s not working for you.

Sadly, it's not a server, it's a singleplayer world I'm waiting for confirmation from the author to re-upload anywhere... I suppose your guess of a server means that my message indicates I did something wrong?

Update! Extracting into a subfolder named telebeacon seems to be working now, tho I would swear I had already done that...

With it working, it's an amazing and balanced data pack that really makes killing Withers something to be willing to do... At least more than once or twice.
The effects are a very good idea, they do really make sense, giving teleportation some mechanics to take into account every time you plan a connection or even a jump, rather than just an unconsequencial, set and forget /tp that many other mod teleporters are. The fact that you can also set up a temporary portal anywhere with two occupied inventory spaces, that can bring you home and even back, makes exploration something both easier and more interesting, too. And the relatively limited number of portals, especially quality portals, you can set up, makes for some interesting choices, too. I have a couple suggestions, tho.
I'd love if the adverse effects were applied after you teleport, so that just accidentally getting in the beam of a paired beacon isn't deadly, or annoying if it's higher quality.
And, the link level (the materials of the pyramid) seems to be determined by the bottom most central block, meaning that a whole level 4 iron pyramid with a single emerald block in that position would count as a whole emerald pyramid. I understand that checking for more blocks would be more troublesome, but just so you know and perhaps can find an alternative.
Diamond and favourite for you, Sir!

What version of Minecraft? It's made for 1.14.

Also, Planet Minecraft adds a bunch of numbers to their download filenames for some reason, which makes a file name so long it can cause problems. Sometimes just changing the file name fixes issues. Rename the pack from telebeacon-1557797540.zip to simply telebeacon.zip and see if that helps. Or unzip it and see if that helps. Also, of course, make sure you have it installed properly in your datapacks folder. Let me know how it goes.
