This is an EXTREMELY work-in-progress datapack that adds a survival-friendly dimension called The Edge. I am still learning how to use custom world generation, specifically how to add generation features. As I learn more, I'll continue to improve and update this datapack!
Currently, it includes 5 custom biomes:
-Ancient Choir
-Bedrock Barrens
-Blasted Sands
-Powdered Slopes
-Luminous Lowlands
I will be including 5 overworld biomes eventually, but I left them out of this version so I can put more focus onto the custom biomes. These 5 biomes will be:
-Dark Forest
-Mushroom Fields
-Swamp
-Badlands
-Shattered Savanna
There isn't much rhyme or reason so far, so please excuse the lackluster nature of the biome distribution, lack of survival-friendly resources, etc. I am working hard to learn how to add more unique trees and other world additions. Right now, it's mostly just eye candy.
This dimension also cannot be entered without commands in its current state. To enter the dimension, copy this command and paste it into chat:
/execute in edge:the_edge run tp @s ~ 200 ~

If you dont mind, what are some good resources you've been using for learning custom worldgen? I'd like to get it on that as well. I've watched Slicedlime's videos but haven't done anything more specific yet.
I have mostly been downloading and dissecting datapacks from others, as it's very difficult to find good tutorials on this stuff. Slicedlime's tutorials are a good place to start, but they don't really get into the specifics about configured features, which are, unfortunately, one of the hardest parts to learn.
A great resource for assembling dimensions is Misode's generator, although if you have already messed around with custom world gen there's a good chance you already know this. If not, here's a link: https://misode.github.io/
Sorry I couldn't be very helpful, I'm still really confused as to how all of this works myself, haha. There's a Discord that is full of people way smarter than I am, so if you have any questions then this is a great place to go: discord.gg/Nf8PYdNs
