The Pumplings Minecraft Data Pack
As Hallows' Eve approaches, many have reported sightings of strange pumpkin creatures lurking around at dusk and dawn. No-one knows quite for sure where these peculiar creatures have come from. Many, especially the villagers, think that the illagers are to blame. One thing is for certain however, these creatures are quite dangerous.

There are four distinct variants to the pumplings, the Drone, the Scout, the Mage, and the Beast. Most of them are very, very weak and will die in just one hit from most weapons. Each of them will also drop an abnormally high amount of experience, making them perfect for getting levels.

The Drone

The Drone is the most common of the pumplings. They are small and orange and almost always carry tools with them. The illagers use them primarily for construction, basic combat, and patrolling. This particular variant works best in small teams or groups.

The Scout

The Scout is the fastest of the pumplings. The illagers utilize them mostly for exploration. They work most efficiently in small groups. However, if the need arises, they are quite effective in combat and can be quite dangerous, especially if they are supported by other pumplings.
The Mage

The Mage takes a different approach to combat when compared to the other pumplings. The Mage will shoot a magical bolt at nearby targets. These magical bolts will inflict one of four negative effects to their targets (poison, slowness, weakness, or mining fatigue). This variant, though, is quite rare and can only be seen during large scale assaults.
The Beast

The Beast is a very large pumpling, the largest in fact. They can take far more damage than the rest of the pumplings and don't even budge when hit. Their large size does come at a bit of a drawback however, the Beast is far slower than the rest of the pumpling variants. The large size of this variant does seem to come at a cost, as the illagers only deploy this variant during planned attacks and assaults.
Melon Head

It is unsure what the true purpose of this pumpling variant is. It is much slower and weaker than every other variant, but one thing is known for certain. They always appear right before a large-scale pumpling assault occurs.

⚠⚠⚠ JUDGE INFORMATION ⚠⚠⚠

This section of the description contains information for those who will judge this pack for the Halloween Datapack Jam.

This section will contain information regarding exactly how the pack is intended to function, so it is easier to discern bug from feature.
There will also be a few commands listed that judges can use to aid in judging.

Every few days a group of pumpling drones will spawn near the player, once spawned in they will wander around until they are killed by the player.

About 7-10 of these patrols will spawn, and then a melon head will spawn. The melon head spawning means that a pumpling assault will spawn the very next day. Pumpling assaults are groups containing about 26 pumplings of all different variants. Once the assault spawns, the next patrol will not spawn for about 5-8 days.

The Pumpling Scout will spawn occasionally at night, like most hostile mobs. They will also spawn during assaults alongside mages and beasts.

To spawn the next pumpling attack (patrol, melon, assault) and also advance the amount of patrols left until assault run the command below:

(This command will also tell you the direction in which said attack has spawned)
/function judge:spawn_next_pumpling_attack
If you would like to see how many patrols must spawn until an assault, run the command below:
/scoreboard objectives setdisplay sidebar til_assault

Is there a way that you can add a trigger/summon/spawn command in game without having to wait for the pumpling drones to initiate the pumpling assault? Will the /function judge:spawn_next_pumpling_attack command work this way?

In the future I would like to add some commands that can spawn them directly.

But in the meantime, you can run the /function judge:spawn_next_pumpling_attack command to spawn a patrol/melon head/assault near you as if it naturally spawned.
