This Data Pack is merely a proof of concept, as a mod will be made based off of this data pack.
Across the overworld, points of entry known as "Ruptures" have warped time and space and have started appearing.
These bring creatures of the past, and creatures of the far future. While the neofauna from the future are completely unknown, undiscovered paleofauna from the past may also pose a threat. Some of these creatures have also been plagued with this world's diseases, turning them undead. These creatures are targeting many of the modern animals that roam the landscape.
Creatures:
As a bonus, this data pack also introduces a craftable item to help you survive: a crowbar! Blunt hits from it can stun mobs and it can quickly mine iron and gold blocks as well.

Compatible versions:
- Anything below 1.21.5 will not work.
- Multiplayer may be more laggy than if you were to play alone. (Playing alone can enhance the horror anyways!)
- It's best to play this with a simulation distance of 6 or less
- I will never make versions meant for older versions of the game as some of the mechanics used in this datapack were introduced in the latest version
If you want to use it in a video or Minecraft server, please just link the PlanetMinecraft link in the description or credits section. You are not allowed to repost this datapack or a modified version of it on any site (looking at you 9Minecraft).

Creatures:
Past
Concornis
A peaceful enantiornithean bird that flies around, making peaceful chrips and calls.

Donnies
An undiscovered species of Troodon is adapting very quickly to this world, being able to break glass and open doors. It is very proficient at hunting players! When killed, they might drop their sickle claws, which can be used!

Goronyosaurus
Though not inherently hostile to players, this medium-sized mosasaur can cause quite a scare, attacking other sea creatures it may encounter.

Microraptor
This cute species of feathered flying dinosaur can be of help to the player! Feeding it seeds will cause it to run around and have itself be chased by other hostile creatures, allowing you to escape with its distraction!

Suchomimus
This hostile species of large spinosaurid can surprise a normal player due to its speed while swimming!

Sauroposeidon
This not-so gentle giant may initially be nice, but when provoked, it will chase you down at higher speeds than you would usually expect!

Stupendemys
This creature spawns more commonly in swamps, and it may help you in your travels across this rupture-ridden overworld. Feeding seagrass to a Stupendemys will grant you the same effects as a Turtle Master potion.

EASTER EGG
Try naming one 'Donna' or 'Isaiah'...

Future
Commander Urchin
While rather slow, this futuristic bottom feeder can shoot a concentrated beam of water at you!

Liam's Eggs
This species of fungi releases deadly spores than can harm any nearby animal.

Sling-Beak
This is a medium-sized carnivorous parrot that can unfurl its jaw at deadly speeds, capable of one-shotting the player!

Shenlongsaurus
This species of flying non-avian dinosaur somehow ended up in the future, and has come to terrorize the present! Killing this feathered dragon will result in its fangs being dropped.

Undead
Sculk Troodontid
A Troodon that came from the Deep Dark and back, it's infected by Sculk and just as deadly as its living counterpart!

Zombified Troodontid
An unfortunate Troodon was zombified and disfigured from the process, melting its mouth shut and occsionally pronating its wrists. It uses its undead talons to scratch its opponents!

WEHO Zombie
A mysterious organization studies the ruptures. Many of the workers were killed and zombified in the overworld, and now roam it as shadows of their former selves. They can drop their helmets or a mysterious workbench that can be used to craft the drops of some mobs into deadly weapons!

Modern Animals
Oceanic Sunfish
A rather unintelligent fish, these sunfishes swim around the overworld, occasionally beaching themselves for no reason!

White-tailed deer
These cervids are extremely adaptable to any environment. But unfortunately, they are one of the Donnies' favourite meals.

Is there a way to manually spawn dinosaurs? I'm not seeing anything spawn, other than a single giant turtle.

Scroll through the functions to find the creature you're looking for.
I'd love to see how this new version performs on a server! Best of wishes to that!
- Can you pinpoint which animal caused the area_effect_cloud?
- Do you know any specific reason for them specifically causing lag?
- Does your server in any way boost the amount of mobs (vanilla or from this pack) spawning into the world?
- If u mean area_effect_cloud like i said before after a while there is absourd amount of them (couple thousands) which lags server from entity amount. However its way less lag than AI.
- My server doesn't do that.
After few hours of testing with sloppy ai it points out:
- Modifiying raw NBT files is server heavy (store result entity ... Rotation), and u should add scoreboards for easier access to them for a cpu.
- That there is no exit condition to the HurtTime:0s line and it spams 20 times / second and u should add remove tag so it only executes it once.
- And u should add distance=..3 to your remaining armor stand selectors because without it it scans all loaded chunks.
I tested AI modified code (not only these 3 above) and sometimes there is improvement, sometimes its similar. Results are very inconsistent and i was testing on a weaker server, and with like 10-15 troodons in close space and after quite few modified version tps was around 15 which compared to original gameplay where 3 could bring it below 10 tps (on a better server) is improvement. The best result It also had problem with Rotation thing and changed it to the tp command instead which gave me the best result (even though its not most optimal way) and i am not 100% sure but dino rotation is not as precise as originally, it changes directions while running towards me. But as I said results are very inconsistent and hard to say for sure what help and what's not. I also tested Liam's Egg improvement but i didn't spent much time on it and i can't really say if it reduced amount of entities or not. Hopefully u can optimize it based on these tips. WIsh i could help more but I am not really experienced with Minecraft coding. Let me know if u need anything else, Cheers! c:
previous test servers didn't ever have this amount of issues found, nor this amount of mobs existing at once. but for the betterment of the pack, I will make fixes to the problems you have encountered.
I think an issue is that I'm using a Survival Island map which has a LOT of trees and the dinosaurs pretty much can't move, so maybe there's just no room for them to spawn....??...
