I’ve used pocket edition to work on redstone circuits when I’m away from home.
It’s not just the cringe version; it has its uses.

Why do people not put a 'both' option? Both versions of Minecraft have pros and cons.
Grammar, the use of 'better' in the question presupposes that balancing the pros and cons of each will result in one being superior to the other (even if by a infitesimal amount).
Also, 'both' can be seen as a politician's answer: a careful straddling of the fence in an attempt to offend no one by avoiding expressing an opinion.
Indicating the circumstances in which one would consider each superior has the advantage of at least taking a position.

But I personally would prefer a different version for a different scenario. Saying one is definitely better than the other is discounting any situation in which the one that you say is objectively worse is in fact better than the supposed “better” version.
Bedrock Will ALWAYS Be My Favorite Minecraft.
I First Played This Version.

A very common effect and one reason companies work so hard to have their products adapted for use in schools, thus taking adavantage of the common human inclination to prefer the familiar…
huh?

I first played Xbox 360, which is more like Java, but now I mainly play Bedrock. That argument doesn’t entirely hold up.

Played both for many years, Bedrock is only better for easier pvp. Java is more fun for survival and pvp and is extremely customizable compared to bedrock.
bedrock players suck a pvp I swear. winning in the hive is a piece of cake
You have Java than you already have bedrock
TRU
It’s just a preference thing. I prefer bedrock, but I understand why people would prefer Java.

I have played Minecraft since I had my Playstation 3, I have always been used to Minecraft on Consoles, now that I have had the opportunity to play Bedrock for 3 years I can say that Bedrock is my favorite version, I have never really played Java but I have Since it has more Mod opportunities, one day I will play Java hahahaha
finally someone agrees with us
Bedrock is pretty nostalgic for me, since I used to just fly around in a creative world searching up command blocks tutorials for bedrock on how to make certain things. I always wanted to get Java for the mods though, since the marketplace had alot of "mods" but they weren't free and usually not the best, so eventually I bought Java and loved it! I didnt even actually use mods at first, I just started a survival world and played it for a while, and to this day I still play Java, even though Bedrock is nostalgic I prefer Java because of alot of its features, servers, and how it can have free mods, but also I like doing commands on Java more, and to this day I fly around worlds making things with command blocks, but I dont need tutorials anymore!
(I prefer Java Edition)
(I prefer Java Edition)
They both have their pros and cons, but overall Java is superior.
you are wrong
Java for the mods, Bedrock for the multiplayer
and performance. and vanilla customization

yeah. In java, you have to install mods to change models and other nice features in resource packs

COME ON PEOPLE VOTE BEDROCK WE HAVE TO BEAT JAVA!!!
Oi! no electioneering in the vicinity of the polling place 😇
i never understand what your saying -_-
they are both fine but i prefer java more of the time
bedrock
are you like trying to correct me because you think i was trying to say bedrock or something? whyd you just say "bedrock" and nothing else. also i said this 2 months ago why did you reply to this
as a player who used to play bedrock and switched to java one i got a computer i can assure you java wins by a LOONG shot i knew mods existed but i never knew just how limited i really was all these mods all this content you could never get bored meanwhile the fun with bedrock ends after you've played at least ten times sure bedrock has better multiplayer i'll give it that but it is also severely lacking in quality which java has shaders raytracing good graphics t's every non hardcore (not minecraft hardcore but hardcore as in 'OH IF YOU DON"T PLAY SHOOTERS IF YOU DON"T BLAH BLAH BLAH FAKE GAMER") gamers dream just you the world and maybe a few friends if you play on a server
BRO PUT SOME PUNCTUATION! I did not understand a thing you wrote
So your entire argument is “Base bedrock is worse than modded Java”?
Of course it is, one of them is modded.
If you’re going to compare both games, compare the base versions.

It depends.
When push comes to shove then I want to set up my own server, my own collection of mods on my own computers. Good luck with Bedrock! Java all the way.
But then again... when I am out on the road using my trusty Surface Pro X device... yah, that Java version won't work but but does work for me is my Bedrock / Windows edition. I had tons of fun with that!
None of them is "better", it's a dumb concept: it all depends on context.
Instead of wondering what is "better" you need to focus on: "what do I want out of all this?", then make your choice accordingly.

Setting a server up on java is as easy as downloading essential mod. And you get a free server, that stays up as long as you are in your world.
But generally your point "neither is better" isn't quite true. Theres more flaws in bedrock over java (mostly because its younger than java but they've had 8 years so really I cant give them anything.)
Bedrock generally is fine if you wanna play the base game, but that's single player, with little to no customization on any other aspect than a build in my world, I'd just pirate java by that point.
Generally bedrock is the cash grab meant to take EVERY other possible console that isn't computer/laptop.
Also to name bugs in bedrock:
Wither is extremely strong, and is generally harder to beat than the dragon.
Fire covers most of your screen when you're set ablaze, which makes it 100× harder to get out of a sticky situation.
1.8 combat
The entire game.
The flaws of bedrock that arent bugs:
Minecoins
The entire store, making you pay for texture packs
Mods
Maps
Skins
The new server creation system, being completely uncustomizable, not even letting you add DATAPACKS. (With the max player count being very small, and being a subscription service)
The cross compatability of java and bedrock took years and was only made possible because of the community and not mojang.

Multiplayer can be fun on bedrock. I admit that most of the featured servers are just cash grabs that throw ads in your face, but some servers like The Hive tone it down and focus on providing a genuinely fun experience.
The wither is a bit of a problem, but for the fire you can just download a low fire pack. I personally prefer 1.8 combat over the updated system, and calling the entire game a problem suggests a clear bias that makes your claims moving forward carry less weight.
Minecoins as a concept aren’t a problem, but targeting kids with them is. The marketplace doesn’t force people to pay for texture packs and mods. There are free texture packs online for bedrock just like on Java. I am fairly certain there are even ways to get custom packs and skins on consoles. The marketplace does, however, provide a way for creators to monetize their content and sustainably keep making it.
The server system on bedrock isn’t great, but you can boot up a multiplayer world with some behavior packs and have a similar experience, even if it isn’t as good.
Java and bedrock were never supposed to have crossplay. Why would they make two different pc versions of Minecraft in two different coding languages have crossplay? It just doesn’t make sense when you get a free copy of bedrock with Java anyway. If you wanna play with bedrock players, you can just play bedrock.
I do want to clarify that I’m not saying bedrock is better. I have played and enjoyed both versions and Java is a bit more polished, albeit a bit less optimized, but bedrock isn’t as bad as you make it out to be. Especially if you compare the unmodded versions of both games, since your solution for most of Java’s flaws is to use a mod and look past them.

Multiplayer can also be fun on Java though...
Yes, but this guy is hammering on bedrock so I’m standing up for it. I didn’t directly compare both versions’ multiplayer outside of the built-in bedrock world joining system
I enjoyed Hypixel back when I tried to push through the PowerPoint frame rate, but Java isn’t the only version that you can have fun with. Discrediting other people’s experiences because you prefer one version (like this guy is doing, this isn’t targeted at you) isn’t acceptable
