PMC Mob Skin Update | Skin and Publish mobs with PMCSkin3D!
The PMCSkin3D Mob Update!
Hi PMC!
You can now design and publish mob skins on Planet Minecraft! We support nearly all of the mobs except for a small pawful. Paril even squeezed in the newest BEE mob last minute! A whole new world is opening up for our talented skinning community. If you happen to create a winter themed mob skin, enter it into the Arctic Summit Event!
We're very excited to see custom mobs of all types and styles!
help How to edit & publish Minecraft Mob Skins?
1) Open PMCSkin3D
2) Click: File > New Skin...
3) Select a Mob Model
4) Optionally apply the default texture for reference.
5) Click "Create"
4) Apply artistic talents.
5) Click "Publish to PMC!"
Alternatives to creating from scratch
A) You can load an existing Mob skin. File > Open file... Select Model. Start editing.
B) If you already have custom mob skins that you've created, you can publish them by simply creating a new "Mob Skin" submission and uploading via the form.
view_list Where can I find published Mob Skins on PlanetMinecraft.com?
As skin artists publish the creations, they'll appear in the new Mob Skins section. We're working on a process to make it easy to download them for use in game with your favorite texture pack. It's a bit tricky for some mobs with variations and that's multiplied by Bedrock models and divided by Java resolutions. You can now download mini mob skin packs!
But wait! There is also HD support! PMCSkin3DHD Wee! You can publish 2x HD Mob skins to PMC. Other resolutions are supported by the editor but you'll have to download them for your personal use. Spoiler: yes, this means HD/Bedrock player skins will be publishable soon. ;)

* Armor Stand, Bed, Cape and Fishing Bobber are mobs. :P
** Dolphin is using Bedrock edition.
info Important Tip for New Mob Skinners
PART VISIBILITY is your friend! While skinning mobs, you're going to find that parts of the model are difficult to skin with other parts in the way. Some mobs are complex beasts, looking at you Ender Dragon, and hiding parts allows you to focus on your precise pixel placement. ppp++Use the PART VISIBILITY pane to toggle the visibility of parts on and off to get at hidden areas and reduce the complexity of what you're working with. | |
Help page is helpful. New to PMCSkin3D? If you're having trouble, please review the dedicated help page or feel free to ask questions in the skinning forums. |
image 25 Fresh Skin Backgrounds!
We've also created 25 new backgrounds for the previewer and assigned appropriate scenes to every mob type. So, Nether mobs such as the Ghast will appear in the Nether and the Vex appears in the... Woodland Mansion, yep you guessed it. Some backgrounds were made especially for a particular mob cause their so unique and/or CUTE! Wow, so much logic applied. |

How do you edit the mob skins on mobile? The dropdown menu for the model selection doesn't really work at all on mobile. You tap it, it does nothing. You press and hold, and it'll highlight blue, but still, will do nothing.

Fantastic. Does prevent the program from auto detecting what type of skin your uploaded, though. You have to manually select it, now.

Does this also work for the glowing eye textures of spiders, endermen, enderdragons and phantoms?
1
Unfortunately not at this time.

Well this are wonderful news! Even more as MCSkin3D too has mob models, which can now be posted here.

How do I equip a mob skin into my minecraft?
2
Working on a solution for this now.

Just one question. How the heck do you APPLY the mob skins to the mobs?????
7
Good question. We're working on a way to make this easy for everyone. Essentially, we have to create mini resource packs that you can drop into your resource pack folder to override the specific mob & variation of your choosing.
These mini packs will appear as an alternative "Download" option once they are available. We'll announce when this rolls out.
We didn't want to delay the creation of mob skins.
