If you had to choose a book to sell, but you could only promote it with one quote, which book and quote would you choose?

Maybe a well written quote, sums up thee book well, or is thought provoking. Up to you!

The Traditional Fairytale. Those nursery rhymes that both frightened and enchanted us.

I have a draw to any story that directly refuses to make sense. Whether the story simply does not follow what we'd consider rational thought (I think The Little Prince fits this well), or the book itself is working against your supposed "progress" through the story (House of Leaves is an outstanding example of this), I will devour it once I have a chance. But the Fairytale? All of them do it. Not one of them is, by our modern standards, rational. In this irrationality, we find a wonder and enchantment at such absurdities; they're magical, you could say. I'd argue that the best writer of such enchanting oddities would by George MacDonald. In fact, no story we love today would exist without his mastery of both the Fairytale and (what was at the time) a rather rare kind of storytelling.

I've used OpenOffice for now almost 10 years and it has a lot but recently I've been looking for an alternative to it as dark mode isn't and probably won't ever be supported making it overall difficult to use thus why I've been resorting to Google Docs over the past year.
However, this application may just top off all of these applications, OpenOffice, LibreOffice, Google Docs, and maybe even Microsoft Word. While Google Docs is 100% free on collaboration, this application isn't so that may be the only downside. Up to 3 users can join at once within a cloud on the free version though but I have it to write privately on desktop so that's not the biggest of my concerns.

The new application I found is OnlyOffice. Started in 2010 and OpenSource it's available for desktop, mobile, and web with it's own cloud (both personal and for collaboration) save with additional option linkage to Google Drive, Dropbox, and many more for additional storage without playing a subscription! You can write both locally and on web on either platforms. I don't know if there is a way to auto save to cloud but I'd assume there must be, else you can simply do save then upload and edit from cloud or just create directly in cloud.

Additional cool features include built-in translator and being compatible with the built in Windows auto-suggestions as you type thingy. And of course, dark mode.

Okay, kind of random, but I have to share this passage I just read...

"The ocean was still there, but now it was a darker, richer blue- the truest indigo Jack had ever seen. For a moment he stood transfixed, the sea-breeze blowing in his hair, looking at the horizon-line where that indigo ocean met a sky the color of faded denim" (Stephen King & Peter Straub, The Talisman).

I don't know why, but I just can't look past this passage... it's so tranquil o_O

edit: sorry, I made a typo earlier! "me" has been changed to "met" now which makes a lot more sense XD

well idk if you guys want to hear this but this is a story I'm righting with my sister

    Chapter 1

two otter Maids were born. They were twins but oddly enough the oldest one was completely white and the youngest was completely black. They named the black one Scallop, and the white one Pearl. Since they were princesses they needed Tiaras like their parents so the kingdom made a tiara for Scallop which had a pearl in the middle of it and they made a scallop shell tiara for Pearl to represent her sister. Two months after they were born their parents queen coral and King Oyster took them down away from their Castle on their Island to the beach shore to do a sacred otter tradition they let the kids swim in the water for a while then they started to hear some noises were in the distance so like most otters do when they have to leave their pup out in the water they tied them to some seaweed

“ What do you think that sound was oyster?” set queen Coral

“ I don't know darling but we're about to find out” king oyster stated

They swim up to a big ship and go along the sides, creeping at the edge of the ship so the people on board would not see them oyster the Braves fella cut lines up on the ship and peeps through the rails. On board the ship he sees Ten scores of rats. He also saw two evil-looking cats addressing all the rats

“We have come to this land to take it over we will leave about the score to be our slaves is that understood,” Said the biggest-looking cat who also had a crown on his head since we were driven out of our land by those vicious Badgers we have been forced to flee and conquer the other’s land so tonight we will burn the ships and then tomorrow we will conquer!”

All the rats cheered. The other cat standing next to the one who had just spoken looked up at the elder cat with admiration in her eyes

“ Dialing you sure to stink of the evilest plan,” she said

“ Oh don't Try to flatter me Marcina”

“Oh but Mateo Who else might have as much wits but you” Stated Marina

At this Mateos smiled and then addressed the rats again.

“ Commander Kai Will lead you all into battle Tomorrow. those otters won't stand a chance against the mighty force of King Mateo!”

Skating at this exclamation Queen Coral gassed and the closest rat next to King oyster turned around

“Intruders” He shouted, alerting everyone on board to try to get them. King Oyster fought so bravely but he wasn't able to defend both himself and his wife so he surrendered. After they were tied up King oyster confronted King Mateo

“ What do you want from us!” he challenged

“ I want to know your name and where you're from,” said King Mateo was an evil gleam in his eyes

“You'll get nothing out of us!” King oyster spat

“ Oh really?” Said King Mateo, “Blubber, Honker grab the lady and bring her over here.” At this exclamation, King Mateo saw The Gleam of worried in king Oyster's eye. Been to rats who were obviously Blubber in Honker escorted Queen Coral over to King Mateo

“ Let's say you wanted to tell me because you wouldn't want to think of the consequences,'' said King Mateo.

King oyster sighed.” My name is King oyster the Third from Sea Island. That’s my wife Queen Coral.”

“ Well well well the king and queen, out to go for a little swim. Good thing we caught them. We can use them as bribery to the village so they'll have to surrender to us. We won't even need to fight. Come on set sail for the island.”

Queen Coral shot a glance at her husband. Only King Oyster could have seen the worry in her eyes. He knew what she was thinking. ” What about their pups?” She was thinking. her husband just gave her a look that said ” we can't help them. ”
“ Do we really want them to be endangered with all this?” He whispered in his ear when the guards Escorted them to the prison hold at the bottom of the ship.

She shook her head inside and cried. She thought about her two pups all alone sitting out there on the water. She hoped they were okay.
