    These rules are focusing on actions within the SMP. The SMP will be similar to a roleplay, but not quite the same (however, it can be considered a RP). In-game actions don't equal to real ones. Don't bring any in-game drama out of game. Thank you.

    0 — Don't hack bozos

    1 — No major TNT or fire griefing. (This means blowing up/burning down an entire base, with or without reason). *Minor griefing is allowed as long as there's communication and a clear announcement, as well as the opposing team being fully able to stop you or attempt to.

    2 — "In-RP"/in-game rule-breaking, such as 'characters' discriminating or otherwise breaking rules mentioned above isn't allowed and will not be tolerated.

    You can find rules, information, and announcements regarding the Neria SMP on this group page.

    The SMP is flexible and has a range of roles so everyone can do something they like. It is family-friendly and will have proper moderation regarding language.
    Any and all information needed to know is found in multiple spoilers on each side of the page.







    Sign-ups are required by everyone to be a part of the SMP. This will, hopefully, prevent trolls from coming onto our SMP, as we don't believe whitelisting is quite enough to prevent that.

    You will be sent results of the sign-up via DM (on discord or PMC, depending on what you're using mainly), letting you know if you're accepted.

    *Again, the sign-ups are there in order to, hopefully, prevent trolls from joining as a whitelist may not be enough.




    SCHEDULE
    The schedule is when the server will officially be online and running. Please don't ask staff to start up the server before/after times mentioned here (for example, after 6pm, before 6am, etc.) Players who have access to starting up the server are allowed to turn it on before/after times mentioned here, though.

    On weekdays, staff are expected to turn the server back on (in case it shuts off) between 6am and 6pm PST. However, on weekends, there are no expectations for staff to turn it back on if shut off, that's up to the players who have access to starting up the server.
    I understand this may seem backwards, but most of us tend to be quite busy on weekends and likely won't have time to start up the server continuously.



    I've listed as many time zones as I can here. If your timezone isn't here, please use google to convert the time zones.

    6am - 6pm PST (Western Canada, Western US and western Mexico)
    MST: 7am

    EST: 9am9am - 9pm EST (Ontario CA, New york US, etc.)

    EEST: 4pm
    		4pm - 4am EEST (Eastern European Summer Time)

    Note: I understand the times won't work perfectly for everyone, but that's not something I can do anything about. I'll be starting up the server at 6am almost every day. I won't be taking any complaints or criticism about the time zones listed.

    General Rules

    *These rules apply when being on the SMP server, Discord, and any content related to Neria SMP.


    1 — Any inappropriate language and/or actions will not be tolerated (including swearing, discrimination, 18+ content, etc. This includes 'censored' content)

    2 — Avoid sharing content that could trigger someone, especially if it's a common trigger (this includes phobia-related content, etc).

    3 — Spamming isn't allowed. (Repeating any content multiple times despite time- frame).

    4 — Asking anyone for personal information (even age or name) isn't allowed, please respect individuals' privacy.

    5 — Please don't bring any controversial topics up.

    6 — Please be respectful to everyone, and try your best not to start any out-of-game/out-of-character conflict.


    All rules must be followed when playing the SMP. If you have any questions or concerns, please DM Prince Ren (for now).

  • SMP Guidelines

    SMP Guidelines
    For context, there are two main "roles". Non-peaceful, being factions/nations; and peaceful, being Nomads/communities.

    Factions/nations can attack other factions/nations within reason. This includes theft, minor griefing, pranks, traps (more rules on traps found above, in the SMP/In-game rules section), etc. However, Nomads can not and will not be involved with any of this.

    Nomads/communities are entirely peaceful and are not involved with anything that breaks the peace. They are not allowed to PVP, side with factions/nations, etc.
    Any structures, farms, etc. are safe as well, and are not to be involved with anything faction/nation-related.


    SMP GUIDELINES
    (This mostly focuses on non-peace related roles and actions. If it's peaceful, it will be specified.)



    1 — Destroying structures and landscapes is allowed as long as it's within reason (I.E. partially removing a castle wall to access the interior in an enemy base is reasonable, however, destroying a cliff or mountain for the sake of destruction is not suggested and will not likely be tolerated by staff). This destruction must be between/against confirmed nations.

    2 — No traps that destroy items (I.E. pits that fall into TNT, lava, fire or the void, or something that will destroy a players items) or risk breaking the 1st SMP rule (no mass destruction via TNT/Fire). Traps must be between/against confirmed nations.

    3 — Theft is allowed as long as items are not destroyed and are accessible in some way (they're allowed to be hidden, but not in a place that will trigger a trap that destroys said items, for example). Theft must be between/against confirmed nations.

    4 — Random and unplanned attacks (attacks being anything from setting up traps, destroying, theft, to killing multiple players, etc.) on unknown bases is not suggested, as the base could be a newly made nomad/community base or a peaceful base without signs. Do your best to be aware of who you're attacking rather than attacking blindly.

    5 — Nomads/Communities are expected put signs in and around their bases to ensure people are aware that they're not included in any mischievous or destructive business.

    6 — For everyone, please treat this like a normal SMP, just with designated rules to help separate the people who want peace and the people who are okay with shenanigans. Make XP farms, shops, villages, etc. Play it like you normally would. Thank you.

    General Info
    Faction/Nation information:
    *Reminder that everyone who is part of a faction/nation/etc. is not peaceful and considered hostile.

    Factions can be created when 3 or more people decide and agree to create a faction. Factions can have any name as long as it follows the rules and are an appropriate representation of the size (i.e. 3 people wouldn't be considered a Kingdom, but could be considered a Guild).

    ∟ Nations/Kingdoms can be created when a large amount of members (5+ or more depending on the amount of people we get) in a Faction decide to 'upgrade' (really only upgrading title options).



    Nomad/Community information:
    *Reminder that everyone who has the role of Nomad/Community Member/Community leader is peaceful and cannot attack or be attacked (player-wise). Breaking this will cause issues and staff will speak to you about the consequences.

    Nomads are usually a single person, however, two Nomads can work together and not become a community.
    Communities are created when 3 or more people decide and agree to create a group of Nomads. This can be useful for building and growing villages and peaceful settlements (the settlements may include things that nations would include such as guildhalls, towns, castles, etc.).
    Communities can have as many people as they want, as well as any name as long as it follows the rules and is an appropriate representation of the community (I.E. can not be called a faction, kingdom, etc. but can be called a guild, or a fellowship).


    Information regarding both 'roles':
    You are allowed to leave a faction/nation/etc. and become peaceful, or vice versa (quit being a nomad and join a faction/nation/etc.).
    However, this complicates things and will result in discussing with staff what happens next.
    Contact staff if you are planning on doing this.

  • What to expect

    What to expect
    This is where we briefly answer questions, as well as list what's to expect when you play on the server.

    1 — The server is similar to a RP (roleplay), however, creating characters is not necessary. It's only similar in a sense that actions in-game will not be carried over to out-of-game (I.E. if you're part of a nation, and another nation steals items from you, don't hate the people; it's part of the game and the role that you chose).
    Don't hate the player, hate the 'character'.
    *Bringing any 'drama' that happens in-game, out of game, is not suggested.

    2 — For the first week or so (depends on how active it is) of the server being up and running, everything will be peaceful (everyone will be nomads) with no PVP, theft, destruction, etc. Within that time you can decide whether you wish to stay peaceful or want to create or be a part of a faction/nation. You can use this time to build shops, houses, bases, farms, etc. as well, or just hang out and chill.

    3 — The server itself will have a few plugins, including a pet protection plugin so pets cannot be injured or killed, and a few chat plugins to help with moderation as well as add some fun to the server (there will likely be a general and local chat).


    *More will be added once questions are asked, or more information comes up.



    This is helpful information to know when playing the server. If you have any questions or concerns, please DM Prince Ren (for now). Any questions deemed appropriate and informative will be answered in this section. We will make wall posts & discord announcements announcing when these updates happen.

    *Any questions not directly relating to the SMP (I.E. Minecraft version, IP, whether it's whitelisted or not, etc.) will be answered in our FAQ section below.

      Just mentioning again that you can make an Aternos account if you'd like to start up the server.
      The schedule is there so people know when it's acceptable to ask staff to start it up, but there is no guarantee it will be up at the listed times.

      If you make an Aternos account, please tell me what your username is, so I can add you to the "trusted" list (this will only give you access to starting up the server; nothing else)!

      The Discord server has now been updated. We're currently working on updating the group. Hopefully, it won't take long. Here's an announcement that was made on our Discord server (slightly edited to fit PMC).


      Hello, everyone!
      We are officially starting the server tomorrow (Wednesday, June 1st).
      We will have a week long of peace starting tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1st.
      The peace will end on Wednesday, June 8th.
      Between the 1st and 8th, any form of non-peaceful actions are not allowed and will result in either a temporary or permanent ban depending on the severity.

      After a 3-month hiatus, we're coming back! Big thanks to everyone for being so patient. We're not entirely sure when we'll be coming back, but, hopefully, within the next month or so.

      We're going to be making a few changes, which will be listed below. But first, please keep an eye out for future announcements/posts, as they may have important information regarding the server.

      - Reworking rules & guidelines.
      - Revamping the application form.
      - Adding a schedule.
      - Revamping the server + PMC group.

      Since the application form will be revamped, anyone who isn't part of the SMP as of writing this (including those who sent in an application, but never got a response due to the hiatus), will have to fill out the new form.
      Everyone who's already a part of the SMP will not have to reapply, but will have to read through what was added to make sure they understand and agree. If they wish to reapply up, they can.

      For those who applied within the last 3 months, please be patient while we revamp the application form. Once we're finished, we'll be sending private messages (PMC) or Discord direct messages (if possible) to let you so know.

      Remember that more things may be changed later on and other important information may be mentioned in future posts, it's not likely this is the final post that will be made in terms of the SMP reopening.

      Just want to apologise to everyone who's been waiting to play on the SMP, as well as waiting for a response to their application. I've really not been doing well in terms of health and probably need a bit more time. Decided to post this here, on the group wall posts, so everyone interested in the SMP is made aware (considering some people may miss it if it's just on my main wallposts).

      For those who have 3+ people and wish to be an official nation (non-peaceful), please comment below and specify that so I can send you the proper form. Otherwise, you will not be counted as a nation and anything hostile (theft, destruction, etc.) will be counted as breaking the rules.

      For people who start nations later on, please contact me so we can go through the proper creation process.

      Please comment on what you currently are (peaceful or non-peaceful).
      If you're peaceful, there's currently no need to fill out any forms. If you wish to be a nation, you will need to fill out a proper form.

      There are two (2) days left until the grace period officially ends.
      What does this mean? It means non-peaceful groups are allowed to attack other non-peaceful groups, such as committing theft, minor destruction (breaking into buildings, etc.), PVP, and so on.

      I suggest easing into a non-peaceful role if you're planning to have a non-peaceful group, rather than jumping right into it.
      But, in case people do jump into it immediately and you have publicly stated that your group is non-peaceful, expect any destruction that's allowed within the rules (I.E. theft, minor destruction, etc.)
      For those who aren't sure what role to take, I suggest being peaceful for the time being, as no one can attack you (you can't attack either) within that amount of time, and you can figure out what suits you best.
      And, for those that are peaceful, just continue doing what you were doing while the grace period was going on and everything should be fine.



      In other news, the server is up and anyone who's whitelisted can join.

      I'd say you do automatically become peaceful if you're not part of a group. You can join groups at any point, though, or create your own.

  • FAQs

    Is Discord necessary?
    Not at all! Discord isn't necessary as this group includes all information needed to know (rules, guidelines, etc.)
    The Discord simply makes it easier for people to chat about the SMP or just hang out in general.
    Do you need Optifine for the server?
    Nope! Not at all.
    Optifine may help with lag if any, so as a general thing I'd suggest getting it. But the server shouldn't be too laggy, so hopefully, we don't run into that issue.
    Is the server Java or Bedrock?
    It's Java!
    My friends and I don't have Bedrock and aren't quite sure how we can make the server accessible on both versions, so there's no way to play via Bedrock currently.
    What if I'm not accepted?
    Approved applications are sent out Fridays!

    If we decide not to accept you (no hard feelings, we have rules and we're gonna keep 'em) you won't be notified. With having to notify that people are in, and the fact that it is a whitelist server, its a good idea to run on the assumption you weren't accepted if its been a while and we've not contacted you.

    Want to ask why or attempt to appeal, contact one of the owners via PMC or discord.
