looked it up once and the first result pronounced it EH-lih-truh, so that's what i've been going with.

also, just for the record, "elytron" is a different word that means a different thing. namely: it's singular while "elytra" is plural.

the hologram thing is a mod. getting such functionality on switch would not technically be impossible, but it would take a significant amount of effort that no-one finds worth it. as a whole, mod loaders for bedrock edition seem to be pretty dead, with no hopes for a revival any time soon.

you can just add an ogg file in the same location as the vanilla music disc's. for example, if you wanted to replace otherside, the file would be "sounds/music/game/records/otherside.ogg" (or "assets/minecraft/sounds/records/otherside.ogg" on java edition). keep in mind that the music will stop the exact moment the original disc would have (so, for otherside, that'd be at 3 minutes and 15 seconds).

as far as i know, bedrock edition does not properly support custom item models. you can get around this using attachables, but they only apply while the item is being held (not, for example, in the UI or on the ground).

download the skin as a png file, then open minecraft.

once minecraft is open, go to the dressing room and press "classic skins", either through the sidebar or through the new character pop-up. at the top of the classic skins menu, in the "owned skins" section, will be the "import skin" option. press "choose new skin", navigate to the png file, and once you've selected the correct skin model, you're done!

they should not need to pay for anything to join the world. aside from whichever online subscription is used for multiplayer in the first place, that is.

players should be able to use any and all resource and behavior packs applied to the world.

if you want to be extra sure they're using the resource packs specifically, you can turn on "shared packs" in the resource packs tab, though this will also disable their global resources for the duration of their stay.

they probably have "only allow trusted skins" enabled. it's in general settings.

no. you're not only interpreting game mechanics as literal, but you're also misremembering them.

beds are likely not a requirement to achieve unconsciousness in-universe, and also, they literally can be placed in the nether in-game. villagers can even sleep in them. the only time a bed in the nether explodes is when specifically a player tries to sleep in them.

if we wanted to go the "interpreting game mechanics as literal" route, then the issue would be with setting one's spawn incorrectly, as respawn anchors also explode if used in the overworld.

if this is about the babies, i think this might mostly just be housekeeping to make sure the older mobs aren't noticeably out-of-sync with the current standard that the marketing team is being really annoying about. to be fair, being annoying about minecraft updates is their job, but that doesn't mean that i have to like it.

the worlds may be old enough that minecraft didn't record their last loaded version. best i can suggest is to look at the release dates for the videos and just use whatever was the most recent version at the time.

while i do agree with you that minecraft is very clearly in the fantasy genre, all of the things you listed are just abstractions for the purposes of gameplay. very extremely common thing throughout the entire medium (and, to a lesser extent, all art).

the actual fantasy elements would be things like, you know. the magic.

it's less that the status quo is being meddled with and more so that it's basically completely stagnant. the java edition playerbase HATES bug fixes (which, to be fair, is also a problem with the bedrock edition playerbase), and for some reason, mojang LISTENS to them!! literally just last year, mojang finally fixed an issue regarding movement normalization and then IMMEDIATELY REVERTED IT because people kept complaining that the game was working correctly for once!! and this happens all the time for so many things!

the java edition team worries so much about appeasing people that don't even like the game, and it's frustrating.

there are a lot of little things, but it mainly comes down to three big ones:
    1. controller support. there are mods for this on java edition, some of which are reportedly very good, but, even ignoring that they will inevitably drop support at some point, it's also just a way bigger hassle to keep mods up-to-date with the game than it is to just have a controller.

    2. resource pack functionality. bedrock edition has a lot more of the resource pack functionality that i'd actually want and it breaks packs wayyy less often. like, bedrock edition packs do break, but that's usually because the pack was relying on a vanilla resource that got changed, where java edition intentionally makes breaking changes to the format almost every week with absolutely no versioning architecture.

    3. i really, really hate the way the java edition devs bend to the every whim of whichever group of players is loudest on twitter that week. like, bedrock edition has bugs and lots of them, but the devs at least don't go out of their way to revert major fixes any time someone throws a fit about it. quite frankly, i'm flabbergobsmacked that java edition even gets bug fixes at all.

the post details the poster's plan to check up on their old bedrock edition worlds. java edition is briefly mentioned at the beginning to establish that the poster has not played bedrock edition in a while.
