i feel like the biggest reason java edition has more mods is just because it's older, meaning there are more tools for people to make more mods with, driving up demands for more tools, and so on. kinda like how there are a quadrillion mods for super mario brothers, but not as many for super mario all stars. i can't help but wonder how far along bedrock mods would be in terms of quality had people kept making them.
microtransactions...
exist on java edition. it even has what is effectively
paid dlc (albeit, without the dl part). it isn't as bad as the marketplace, obvi, but it does still exist.
and, when it comes to player type, i would simply like to remind everyone that
bedrock edition's alpha predates
java edition's release. veteran bedrock players exist.
i'm not mad btw. i'm just not sure how to phrase this that it doesn't read like i am.
