Forum Thread

Hello everyone! I'm not particularly active on the PMC forums, but I have seen quite a few amazing datapacks that add great content that usually end up getting buried! I figured the best thing to do would be to compile a list of some of the best datapacks that I have seen, I highly recommend that you give all the packs on this list a try!

  1. Florcraft - Florcraft is an amazing magic datapack created by Hashs. If you've been wanting to play something along the lines of Thaumcraft 4 in 1.16.5, this datapack will be perfect for you. It focuses on the power of "essence" drawn from the natural environment. It is an extremely well-crafted datapack that performs well and will receive a ton of additional content in the future!

  2. The Creeper's Code - The Creeper's Code is the ultimate vanilla+ datapack experience, and probably the most well-optimized datapack in existence thanks to the genius of CreeperMagnet_. It adds in a ton of features while sticking to vanilla MC's design philosophies! You can craft boomerangs, collect snails, brew tea, and much more in this datapack!

  3. Mechanization - Mechanization has been a powerhouse of a datapack for over 5 years! This reimagining of various tech mods brought into the world of vanilla MC was created by ImCoolYeah105. This pack features tons of machinery, from grinders, to autofarms, and even nuclear power! If you love bringing tech into your MC experience, I highly recommend this pack as it is the uncontested king of tech datapacks.

  4. Vampirism Data-Pack - The Vampirism datapack by KooriKitsune38 is an amazing reimagining of the concept of Vampirism in minecraft, the best part? No resourcepack required. This datapack brings in plenty of fun vampiric abilities such as a bat transformation, drinking blood, and more!

  5. FireboltAA's Slipstreams - The slipstreams datapack adds amazing utility to your minecraft world! This pack by FireboltAA allows you to create sliptreams that can be used for compact elevators, and is another pack that requires no resourcepack!

  6. Rummage Sack - This is an amazing mid-game storage solution datapack that adds a craftable rummage sack! Inventory management becomes quite difficult with each update. This datapack is currently limited to 1.17, but it is still an amazingly balanced solution to the inventory problem! This creation by MrMcAwesumz is a must-have for all the inventory hoarders out there!
Added Vanilla advancement to aid in natural progression for new players' discovery of the sack.

  7. Whips - The Whips datapack created by Asdru22 is a must-have addition to any 1.17 snapshot world. It adds a variety of different whip-weapons that inflict different effects. They are extremely useful due to their extended melee range and rather quick attack speed!
    All the whips

  8. Astromancy - Astromancy is a very interesting pack that focuses on star-based magic! It has 12 different spells and makes sure that you spend the time required to study the magic. If you want a magic datapack that allows progression to move at a slower pace, this pack by EricIsntSmart is for you!
The Astral Circle, your gateway into the Astral Arts

  9. New in Town - Are you looking to add more story and purpose to your Minecraft world? The New in Town datapack by Kanokarob fulfills that request beautifully! This datapack allows you to build up and defend a town from the evils that would seek to destroy it. One amazing thing about this datapack is that the various optional addons for the pack allow for a highly customizable experience!
Start from humble beginnings! A settler's wagon serves as the center of your town in any world.

  10. Shamanism: Rebirth - Yes, this is my own datapack! I put this at the bottom because I feel that the datapacks above deserve so much more attention, they really are great creations. However, I hope you'll consider giving Shamanism a try as well! Shamanism is a datapack focused on harnessing the power of spirits to perform magical acts. It has staffs, totems, boss fights, and it even has a morality system that ties in to the lore of the datapack! If you want a mystical source of power in your world, please give it a try!
