anyways random song of the day: I mentioned The Clash yesterday so here we are. The Clash were originally a punk band debuting along with Sex Pistols. Overtime though they also experimented with different sounds and not just punk, which London Calling is their most experimental album and one of my favorite albums ever. This song isn't from that album but rather is from their most commercially successful album Combat Rock, since it includes 2/3 of their superhit songs. This song apparently became popular with it being used in advertisements, but also got popularity recently from Stranger Things

Some band members put only the drum and bass part of "train in vain (stand by me)" by The Clash and started grooving, then everyone else started joining in. Overall the song was written in 30 minutes and became one of their biggest songs. They also credited Joe Strummer and Mick Jones of The Clash, since they sampled their song from 1979

random song of the day: I mentioned Iggy Pop the other, he was good friends and roommates with David Bowie and also ended writing songs together for a while, this was not one of them but the album it was on Lust For Life had a lot of help from Bowie. Iggy is also a very influential artist in the kind of punk scene, but he never was very successful, without Bowie he wouldn't be as successful. This song is his biggest hit that he wrote in the Berlin metro, Bowie and Iggy went to live in Berlin for a while to get over their drug addiction
