Really nice art! I will have to try that technique some time. Thank you very much for the inspiration. My habit for art and skins is usually to pick colors as needed from the color wheel, but the times that I have restricted myself to a palette, it often ends up looking better than I expected. Something about having limitations makes us come up with more creative solutions to the restrictions, I think.

I found it the most manageable way to organize haha, esp since I think lumis/values are way more important than hues. Reminds me of that old Knoble blog, as long as your values are readable, hues can be relative but not consistent. I've even made art a similar way (These colors I used for the art piece come from this skin organized by lumi lol) 😅

What an interesting approach! I would find it very difficult to use such a large luma sorted palette. DB32 sorted by luma is doable, but yours looks like it has hundreds of colors. That takes some skill.

That was something I was testing! I've just got Stable Diffusion running on my PC and was curious if I could use images to generate a palette for my skins because I suspect a lot of user here reference image colors a lot (Not that it's bad, I think it's cool so I wanted to try it!). Pretty much got an image of the colors I was imagining in my head, ran it in Aseprite, organized it there, and imported it to PMCSkin3D. Mostly why I recorded it, to document how well it was compared to normal. Testing speed to my other recording lengths as well as sharing it

It definitely works, but I don't think it sped up my process much. All it did was help with the initial color choices to make sure they were compatible (But if I was that desperate, I could just color pick any images). Towards the end I completely abandoned the palette and went back to normal. Don't think I will ever do it again, I felt it guided me so little I didn't even mention it although the idea helped motivate a lot of it lol

Really cool video! I love to see what other artists' skin making process is like. I'm wondering where the palette comes from though. Were these colors you chose by hand, or were they sampled from something and sorted by luminosity?

The community feed was actually pretty cool a couple years ago! A whole lot of collaboration back in the day.
There were a few problems though, namely a couple users basically became celebrities? That might have been why people thought it was okay to ship people.

This one guy in particular was easily the most well known person on the platform but it turned out he was a total creep and he got perm banned which is probably part of why people stopped with all that nonsense.

bigmesk Fixed warps and list, try when you able to join. Thank you for this wоrds :) There was no patience because there were no warps and you had to fly between dragons manually

Hmm, weired why not working anything. I tried to fix the fall by raising the spawn point, but it seems it still doing this. I put water at the bottom and signs about the use of the warp. I realy dont know.

Having a hard time navigating the map, nothing at the spawnpoint works. jumped off the platform into the water and there is nowhere to climb out, not able to teleport back to the spawnpoint, stuck.

*update* Everything above is now working besides teleporting. I went to see every dragon you've made up close. The smaller dragons are gigantic themselves, the rest of the bigger ones, especially the one laying down having her head hover over a village with her tongue hanging out her mouth in between the two houses is the size of the largest mountain you can think of being made in Minecraft. If someone stands on her back, they would be clueless of where they are, the game doesn't even load enough to see that you are on a dragon.

I gave it a shot, but do not have the patience to find any of the eggs for the egg hunt, I love the descriptions you made for most of the dragons, would like to see what other ones you type out in the future. Exploring isn't the easiest to do with 1.12 elytras, so if you figure how to do so, just have everyone be in creative mode and have the map claimed to prevent breaking and placing blocks, but still have people be able to due everything else such as toggling switches, opening doors, what have you.

Of everything that I have seen in the game of Minecraft and on Planet Minecraft, nothing compares to what you have created. I wish and hope the best for you. I am excited to see what you do next!
