You're not part of the development team so saying so is very unjust not knowing their initial intentions. Seeing from the posts of the crew, they genuinely seem excited about the project and are likely putting a lot into it.

I will not deny this and there is nothing really wrong with it, but in the end, all film productions, especially those at higher quality ones (yes, I'm not a fan of the trailer either, but I won't deny the CGI is really high) can cost tens of millions so making at least 2x+ this amount is crucial. Big names joining forces is a great, and at the point of Minecraft's growth, likely the only way to further grow the Minecraft brand to different audiences. Jack Black and the other actors are watched by people of all ages which Minecraft as a game isn't having the same all ages impact as a Hollywood film. This can help promote the game to further age ranges and beyond just the game industry.

Who are we to judge for the future? Yes, I'm sure so many will dislike it but I also know many more will enjoy it. Big names all working together, even if the film sucks to your taste, in the end, your taste is unique to everyone elses. These are big names we're talking about, it won't just magically vanish in the next couple years. And if it's successful (85%+ will be knowing both the game and film industry), there COULD be sequels.

You think the developers of the film don't care and don't spend much time on this? This film (believe it or not) will take more time to make than anything anyone has ever made Minecraft related due to the massive team behind it (hours per person). In the end, we're all creators, and it's wrong to judge one's work to another creator. Each have their own views and beliefs on how something can be made.
