Hello there! I'm staples! I focus primarily on the PumpkinPatch resource pack, but I'll occasionally upload a skin or a project if I have the time. I check PMC daily, so feel free to talk to me anytime!
Got a bit more nether stuff done today. Also discovered that a few old textures are actually for some reason? I might try and do a release sooner than I planned that has some new stuff but mostly just fixes all the broken shit. We'll see.
So I wanted to put this somewhere, but I didn't want to do an update log for the resource pack since I don't want to psyche people out, thinking it's a full update. This is more of a clerical update, I suppose.
I've had a ton of people over the years complain to me about adfly, and how they were getting sketched out by it. My stance on link-monetization has always been something along the lines of "Just learn how to spot sketchy nonsense", but due to the sheer volume of people complaining about dubious ads (and also my own experiences over the years) I've pretty much completely changed my mind.
I don't like the idea of people trying to download my resource pack and getting tricked by some phishing attempt disguised as an "ad", so today I removed all the monetized adfly links and replaced them with direct download links to dropbox. No more ads, no more sketchy nonsense.
It's possible that I'll setup a patreon account in the future, when I'm able to more regularly update the pack. That would feel weird to do now though, since I haven't updated the pack in over a year. I DO plan to remedy this appalling lack of updates, but the amount of crazy nonsense in my life that caused me to slow updates down in the first place has not been reduced. So I guess I'm saying it will be slow, but updates WILL come.
Anyway, let me know if you have any questions/concerns.
Glad to see the link has been updated! I completely understand why you used a monetized link, and I've never been worried about falling for the ads myself but I'm sure plenty of children download the pack who may be more susceptible to trickery.
If you decide to push updates more often and get a Patreon, I'd love to support as I've been continuously using your Resource Pack for the last 7 years!
