Ok. I’m only going to say this once. So much confusion surrounds this, especially in the west.
The topic is the British Isles, and the phrases ‘United kingdom’, ‘great britain’, and ‘England’. These terms are NOT INTERCHANGEABLE! (At least not as much as I see them used.)
Britain is the large island on the east. It consists of the countries Scotland, England, and Wales.
Ireland is the smaller, rounded country west of Britain, which consists of The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. different countries.
The UNITED KINGDOM is Scotland, Wales, England, Forvik (dear Scotland, this is a joke), and NORTHERN IRELAND. The Republic of Ireland is not part of the UK.
I am English and British. My cousins are Welsh and British. UKish is not a word. Lucas,I know you are reading this. Stop saying it.
I have had to explain this many times, and I hope this clears stuff up! Sorry for the long post and being inactive. If I missed anything important (or was blatantly wrong) please tell me.
