I also wanted to take this (rare) opportunity to say, I miss you, PMCer's. Back in October when we made this announcement, we thought after a few weeks, maybe at most a month, I would have a little more time and be in a groove with our small human and return to writing the Weekly's and be involved in this wonderful community once again. Turns out, she runs the show and requires basically every second of my time. She's lucky she's cute. 😛 I don't know when I'll start having time to write the newsletter again, but just know that it's always on my mind as are you 💙 Hope you are all doing great and are happy and healthy! Things change.
Even if it's been a long running tradition - if it no longer fits, it has to be updated.

Which is why the 1.18x releases of all my packs will be the final time I do the thing I've been doing since the start of this channel, which is to make a new post when a major update for the pack gets rolled out, even though I did alot in each release I put out for all that time.

So about the release schedule for this month:
You'll be seeing all the packs released on Early Access since December going live within this month, and there's quite alot of them.
After that I'll be working on new releases for a while. I got a lot of interesting ones planned that I can't wait to start working on them.

Also, I don't have a roadmap for the entire year, as I haven't planned out that far yet and I've known too well not to promise anything.

I like how PMC calculates its dates.
Even if it's a day since a new post, it'll all say "last year" as if a whole year has passed since the introduction of a post.
But then again, I'm not much of a pro at websites just yet so maybe it has to be like that for a reason...

I just looked at the time, and it has been 15 minutes and I haven't successfully switched yet.
How am I supposed to run tests like this?

It is now painfully slow to use the fast-switching feature avaliable exclusively on the Old Launcher.
And here I thought Microsoft maintaining the Old Launcher was a good thing ...
I think they're just making it worse and worse slowly over time to then force the new launcher on us all.

Discord Server update:

I have opened some new channels for experiments as well as changes that I have planned.
Since I make changes to my new pack updates quite often, and some might change your experience entirely,
I thought you guys should know what they are, and give your personal thoughts on it before I gave my final decision.
So yeah, that's now avaliable.

Also, I've updated about 20% of the packs so far, 3 are on Early Access right now, if you want to check that out.
You can expect to see the packs being released one by one at the later half of December. (hopefully)
Gonna try to get them all done within December, we'll see how it goes...

Due to timezones, 1.18 always comes 1 day later for me. Anyways, it's finally here!
I'll spend a few days learning about the update myself to keep me updated, it's alot easier to remember them that way, as there's alot to see.

The 1.18x update for packs should be coming real soon,
but for the time being, 1.17x packs should work in 1.18,
however I'd recommend backing up your world before trying to run them in 1.18 in case something goes wrong.

Just dropping in to let ya know I'm working on improving my Discord bit by bit.

You can now choose to be notified when I did something new development-wise,
or when I'm about to host a public datapack testing session.

Update to previous post: Uninstalling the new launcher, then running the old launcher again reverts it to its previous state of crashing just once then runs like nothing happened.

You know that crash problem I had with the old launcher after relocating to Microsoft Account system?
Where it would crash once, then work like nothing happened the next time?

Well, after installing and using the new Launcher, running the game with the old one (because the new one is bad in all directions) forces the game to crash at least 4-5 times before finally running properly.

Microsoft is slowly becoming one of the worst companies ever by the second...
First the Windows 11 update to force people to use Edge by giving their Edge browser unfair advantages, now this.
A small note about the Microsoft Edge thing: This has been a thing since Windows 10, but it's alot more prevalent after Windows 11.

They have been boiling the frog on that change.

Update: My full ratings for the new Launcher: 3/10. The things Microsoft removed far outweights the advantages.

RIP Old Alpha versions. Launcher Update sliced them clean off.

I realized this fact ever since 2016 (but it has been a thing for a long time now) and finally someone is pointing it out.

Not the greatest, but at least I made it myself and I can be glad about it.

I'm thinking about writing more behind the scenes info for the datapacks I make, and show them as a special gift to my Patrons.

This way, I'd get to train and improve my writing skills,
as well as showing those who are interested what I often think about as I add in a new feature,
make balancing changes, design features for a new pack, bugsmashing, and so on.

I'll sometimes post some of this BTS info on my Discord for those who can't support my work right now.
