The events section of the forums is the place for everything community-event related.
Events can be competitive, like a contest, battle or tournament, where winners are chosen at the end. They can also be non-competitive like a challenge or event to take part in just for the fun of it. Community events are a great way to find inspiration, to try new things, to get to know each other and most importantly, to have fun!
Keep in mind that the general PMC rules apply to this section of the forums.
Additional rules and guidelines:
- You can host events in this section. It's the best place on Planet Minecraft to do so.
- You can discuss events here: You can ask people to sign-up for your event, you can discuss event concept ideas and you can create polls to vote for themes, winners or anything else community event-related.
- You may announce the winners or the results of your event in a separate forum topic.
- Do not organize an event if you want a request fulfilled, use the workshop section of the forums instead.
- You may not require participants to subscribe to you, to follow you on social media or to do any similar action.
- You may not offer diamonds, likes, favorites, notification spams and similar actions as prizes in your event.
- Read the description and the rules of the event, and follow them carefully.
- Bookmark or "favorite" the event you are taking part in, so that you can find it back easily.
- Did you sign up for an event, but does something prevent you from finishing your entry in time? Then it is nice to notify the event host.
- Participate in a few events before you host one of your own.
- Events can be held in many ways, don't hesitate to think outside the box!
- Have a clear description of your idea and your rules so that participants know what to do.
- Having a deadline or end date for your event is recommended. In competitive events it is a must.
- You can keep a list of entries in your forum topic or make a collection to keep track of entries.
- Don't copy the text from someone else's event, try to write your own from scratch.
- Refer to this tutorial for a more in-depth guide.

Sorry, I completely missed your comment 9 days ago. These events are hosted by members. Each event has their own reward. The most common prizes are pixel trophies, features and skin or art requests. Check each event for details.
PMC official contests normally offer a steam gift card as the prize for the #1 winner. :)

I visited this a loooooong time ago, and now that I'm back, it's still up-to-date! I'm sure you updated this whenever you can, and to that I say a serious well done!~ Just to help you out a bit, my contest is still in round one, and will transition into round 2 AFTER October 12th. And SushiKay's contest is in judging process, the deadline for round two was the 30th September. Have a great day!~ :P

Thank you! For your contest I simply made a typing error. For SushiKay's contest I was a tad confused because I didn't see entries listed on their forum thread for round 2, even though the deadline had passed, but good to know they're in judging phase!
I try to be thorough, but sometimes I'm rushing just to update the calendar because I've also been busy with other things recently. Appreciate the help! :D

I think the description of your contest could be improved with a few simple adjustments. Please have a look at this blog post which gives some tips for hosting a successful contest.
Additionally, your contest states that up to 3 skin submissions are allowed as long as they're updated versions. However, PMC has the option to "update" a submission, and this option should be used for updated skins rather than creating a whole new submission.
Using a poll as timer for your contest is very clever!

Just a quick update on my contest, I extended my contest to September 18th because of the limited amount of entries. Could you please possibly change the end date on my contest so that everyone knows it's extended a little? :3

Thank you so much! Though, there's a new Johto version of my contest that's now out in the public's eye and will end on November 1st (Yet, you can still submit any Kanto entries that weren't filled in the last contest's Pokedex). Could you possibly add that at all?
