A Beetle made for The Bee Battle. I wanted to make something different and pretty. I love how some beetles have this glossy iridescent top, so I took inspiration and tried to recreate it with a lot of cold hues. This time I took a more painterly approach and because of that the skin has 204 uniques color (of 458 pixels total). The technic has a really tiring process, but the results are worth it.
