The red-breasted nuthatch is a bird in the family of Sittidae.
It is a bird living in North America and lives mainly in coniferous forests, although it can sometimes be found in other places.
Females have paler chest than male.
It is a bird that feeds on insects in summer, while in winter it will feed mainly on conifer seeds. It will sometimes go to the feeders, to take sunflower seeds, peanuts or suet.
My relationship with red-breasted nuthatches:
It's not a species that attracts me more than other birds... yet, strangely, I often dream of it. It must be four times to date that I dream of this bird and it is undoubtedly the bird I have dreamed of the most.
One day when I was cleaning something under a tree “and under my feeder” a red-breasted nuthatch came very close and, without fear, to come and eat at my feeder. It was the one and only time I saw one in person and it was amazing to see that my presence didn't seem to disturb her.

I often watch an ornithologist on Youtube who is very familiar with the birds in his area and he has a red-breasted nuthatch as a friend.
