The 1.14.2 version also works in 1.14 and vice versa

Description

This datapack replaces the igloos with enormous illager fortresses. Currently, there are 3 diffrent types which can generate: fortress, tower and dungeon. All of them are endgame content, I suggest that you get full diamond armor and a pretty good weapon before trying to take over one of these. Current version is v4 for 1.14 and 1.14.2 (not for 1.14.1).

Installation
Drop the .zip file into the datapacks folder inside your world save file. That's it!

Technical Information
Generating the structures associated with the fortresses can cause client and/or server lag. Due to MC-130584 it can rarely happen, that parts of the dungeon will get flooded. I would really appreciate it, if you could go vote for this bug, so it will be fixed in one of the next versions.

Compatibility
This pack is not compatible with all datapacks, which modify the preexisting igloos.

ok so i installed this pack about 3 days ago and finally got round to looking for an fortress and i can say im very impressed with the build the loot and how fun it was. nice job keep up the amazing packs. :) also have your ships just as awesome.

I tried installing it and I think I did it right, but it the structure wont load. I'm using a mac, put the zip file into the datapacks folder.

I saw a set of command blocks briefly, but they disappeared. Nothing happened after that.

Sounds like you are using 1.14.1. The datapack does not work in this version, only in 1.14 and 1.14.2.

You can use /locate igloo to find one. The current version works only in 1.14 and not in any of the 1.14.1 pre-releases.

Hey, do you know how to delay commands inside functions ?
like i want to remove the command block only after like 80 ticks (so it loads propaly)
I already have this :

#Fill the command_block and 2 blocks higher

fill ~ ~ ~ ~ ~2 ~ minecraft:air

But it works only sometimes on natural spawning (I only get 1 or 2 sides on the 4)
Is there any tag that can be used to delay it ?

You can use /schedule for this, but it is a pain to work with, as it will always execute at x=0 and z=0. And scheduled functions can override themself if others are triggerd. That's why I would suggest to use a scoreboard like /scoreboard objectives add time dummy and continuesly run something like /scoreboard players add @e[tag=clock] time 1 . In this case clock would be some armorstand or another entity used to add the scoreboard to. Get creative with this name to avaoid compatibility problems with other datapacks. Use /execute if score @e[tag=clock,limit=1,distance=XXX] time matches 5 run . . . to trigger something at a specific point in time. 20 is equal to about 1 second.

- Does this mod replace all Igloo points on the map? Or left to find a classic Igloo?
- Do you have similar practices to improve the dungeon Jungle Temple (1.14), or Desert Pyramid? The Jungle Temple is the worst building to date. But nobody improved it.

- Yes, it replaces all newly generated igloos
- Sadly, you can not change those structures, as they are hardcoded into game. This might change in the future.

Same problem there. This is the case for the majority of structures.
it seems the 1.14.1 pre-release broke this pack. no igloos spawn whatsoever.

thanks. this pack is amazing bruh. finding igloos is neat at best. they add nothing to an already boring biome, but THESE FORTRESSES??!! they're great....deadly....but great!!
Man. well done with the Illagers. We are using it in my world atm and its great. I myself am in the middle of making my structures. The data pack is called "Old Generation" It's all about an old generation which was here before us but an unknown enemy called Corruption spread and infected and turned the Old generation into horrible enemies "Skeletons with bows or a arrows and look sexy "And Wither skeletons which look crazy and are bosses atm" The book itself gets dropped after the ender dragon has been killed and its called Old generation which will give players information on how to find the beacon of light if they haven't found it to summon the structures into the world. The boss dungeons only spawn ones but the others are generated normally in the world.


Now all I need help with is to figure out a way to get these to spawn around in my world make sure the boss dungeons spawn only ones but have structures which spawn around the map multiple times. Figuring out loot could be cool but I don't mind adding my own loot in those.

This might be to much to explain to me if so i hope you can itleast give me somewhere to start my search in figuring this stuff out. Thanks

This datapack has a working structure spawning algorithm. Maybe you can contact the creator for a bit more info on how he did it.

Hey, how do you use the north, south, east, west, est has a condition in your functions ?

Cause my build generats good only when its facing south

Did you used the base.mcfuncion for that ?

So you puted a command block in the middle of the structure, so that all sides would be covered and wont depend of the direction ?

There is a single function for all four directions when it comes to generate the smaller surrounding structures. But there is no rotation for the main structures, they will alwasy face the same way. Adding rotation would be a lot more work and no real benefit, since there are almost never two fortresses within viewing distance of each other. base.mcfunction only creates the cobblestone base beneath the main structure, so it won't float in the air if it generates on top of a hill.

I tried a couple of times to go to igloos and they dont spawn the same direction, so when i want to fill beneath with snow_blocks, sometimes, it generates outside of the structure.
But I placed a command_block in the middle of it, so that it will generat propaly each time in any direction (probably like you did and why the main structure is always square)

The "Rotate" feature of structure blocks does not only rotate a structure, it also changes the position of the structure. You have to make up for this by changing the x and z "Position" modifiers inside your structure block.

I don't have a command block in my structure but an armor stand marker in the corner. I use this one and the knowledge of which direction I spawned the structure in to create the base beneath the surrounding structures.

Hello! This looks very good and compelling! Several questions, however:

1) Are there imprisoned villages in these? 1 reason I go to igloos is for the villagers. Actually, that's the only reason I go to igloos, but whatever.

2) Do you have a gallery of the ways these things can spawn? I am pretty compelled to get this since igloos are useless otherwise. I'm just curious to preview all the content this pack adds.

3) How hard would this datapack break if I was using a floating islands buffet world with it?

1) No, the illagers AI would constantly try to attack them and vexs would kill them almost instantly.

2)Just download it and try it out in a test world :D (You can use /locate igloo to find one) The reason I never add a lot of images to my datapacks is to not spoil the sense of discovery for the majority of players.

3)Again, best way to know this is to just test it in a backup/test world. It should work fine, if igloos spawn there naturally. Parts of the underground dungeon might float though and there could be fewer sorrounding structures. The cobblestone base beneath the fortresses might not spwan in aswell.

Can you change the Spawning conditions so it can spawn anywhere? That would be awesome. Some datapack checked for a specific block in a chuck to be a coal block, and if it was, it would spawn the structure or so if Y= 10 or so - i believe it was a GM4 Datapack that had this checking process.

I love this structure, but would love to keep original structures aswell.

Probably not, sorry. But you can generate one by putting igloo/top into a structure block set to load mode. After that you can remove or rename the folder called minecraft inside datapacks\Illager Fortresses v3 for [1.14]\data\ . This will prevent new fortresses from spawning. This way you can get a fortress (or multiple if you choose to) and also keep the original igloos.
how did you do the rocky frame around the picture and is that something you can share with others?

Hey, really love your data pack, really cool.
Just have 3 questions :
- Is it possible to use mythical mobs (plugin) to make custom mobs spawn in those structures ? and make a big boss.
- What command do you use in structure blocks to generate them manually ? I tried minecraft:ecerus/fortress/illager_dungeon_top but doesnt work
- If i change the structures you added there, are thery still gonna load propaly ? like no command block or structure block will stay in the wild

Hope you can help me with those, and again, very nice job you did there

I don't know what mythical mobs is. But if you can use /summon to spawn them in, then yes, you yourself could add that. Add the summon commands to the illager_X_population.mcfunction files, if you want to make changes to mobs or add a few new ones.

Note, that that may not work as you would expect, because there are clocks inside these structure which will trigger as soon as the structure generates.

No, they won't. The tower and the fortress are made up of multiple files. There is a commandblock contraption inside the structures which makes sure they get loaded in properly and then deletes itself. Also, the structure void blocks will not be copied in.

Something else that is kind of weird, when i hit an armor stand, it multiplies itself instead of breaking. (didnt tried it outside of the fortress, could also be a 1.14 bug)
