Greetings ye knights and lords!
If you are looking for a mod that transports minecraft back in time to the medieval times, then you've found it! Medieval Craft features weapons, materials, blocks, and decorations of a medieval theme. So far, it adds 6 new ores: copper, silver, lead, tin, nitre, and geode, and 38 new trees. It also adds a wealth of weapon types: greatsword, battleaxe, battlestaff, warhammer, warscythe, dagger, halberd, mace, flail, military fork, spear, crossbow, mancatcher, falchion, and scimitar. There are also siege defenses. New mobs include: humans, bears, hedgehogs, and deer. In addition to the blocks and items this mod adds to Minecraft, MedievalCraft also aims to augment a more realistic and in-depth survival experience.
This is the first mod I made that I am releasing. Please comment your opinions. Also, please post your crash reports if my mod causes your game to crash. As far as I know, this mod has no compatibility issues.

This mod requires the Baubles mod (version 1.8.9), by Azanor, and Player API Core 1.0 mod (version 1.8.9), by Divisor, and uses the latest version of Forge (1.8.9 -

this is probably impossible, but... I would kill to get the earth biomes re-added to 1.12, doubly if compatibility was added with Terrarium (the mod that adds an earth world mode) but in the worst case I can probably get the biomes working manually so long as they exist
Medieval Craft is being discontinued as a single mod, but is still being continued in the form of several smaller mods, which are being updated and maintained. The links for the Planet Minecraft posts for the sub-mods can be found here:

If you're having any trouble with updating to more recent Minecraft versions, I'd suggest looking into a GitHub repository. It's free and it makes managing a mod a ton easier when there are other people to contribute code.
Hey I was wondering if I could help create 4 new mobs such as the good knight and archer and evil knight and archer both which attack each other or the player depending on situation, also, what about mercenaries which fight for you??? I don't mean for u to program it but I will be happy 2 send u files when it's done
i need this for 1.7.10
Medieval mod, but Lucius and Gaius are Roman.
Get the names from Clash of Eagles by any chance?

Yo, epic mod dude! despite it being 100% complete, i thought i would just add this. if it is possible could you add copper and tin tools but make them just a slight bit better than stone and weaker than iron? Thanks for the mod anyways, it is currently my favarote mod PLUS it was the first EVER for me to have inatalled!

Thanks for the mod ye old chum!
Thanks bud, this was the first mod I ever released, so i'm pretty proud of the great feedback i've gotten so far. Despite it saying 100% complete, that just means it is no longer in alpha. Which means things are still being added. I was going to add more tools in the update after next, but I might bump that up to next update.

Any chance of a 1.8 version rather than just 1.8.9? That'd be awesome.
Once beta is released, I might look at reverting a version to 1.8 and maybe 1.7.10
the "catapult" is actually a trebuchet, i think that the model isn't good and i would like to help since i'm a very experienced modeller but i don't have time and i'm sure that you wouldn't want to pay for my services
I realize that the current catapult model is excruciatingly inaccurate. It will change in the next build. However, there is a difference between the catapult and the trebuchet, and this catapult is in fact a catapult (it just doesn't look like it).

Ask me if you need a model, I'm decent at modeling. If you want, I can work on the catapult model in my free time.
Do you think you can remodel the bear and the deer? That would be amazing if you did. They really need it, and I'm not that good at models. I have just been using techne to make the models, but I don't care what you use. I just need the java file and the texture map if you do remodel them.

Also, i noticed that you didn't add crossbows or english longbows, will these be added?
I am aware that there is a target and bolts, but only the default minecraft bow to use. I meant to add crossbows a while ago, but I got distracted. However, there should be at least the steel crossbow in the next build.

Do you mean a completely steel crossbow? If so, would the person need a windlass to wind it?
The bow spring is made of steel

Will this mod be compatible with mine and blade battlegear 2? Also, will you add overlapping armor? Lastly, I would be cool to have horses be more useful by adding a lance. If you do plan on making this mod compatible with mine and blade battlegear 2, hopefully you will add a two handed sword.
I haven't thought about Mine & Blade Battlegear compatibility, but I will look into it. Overlapping armor might come eventually. That is a cool idea, but will be hard to implement. Lastly, I will add lances eventually, along with all the other armors and weapons. That will be in the beta release.
Thank you guys for 1000 downloads!

So interessting ! good job ! more wizard stuff ( i'm french sorry for my bad english )
Salut HunterOrc, Je ne prévois pas ajouter la magie et les sorciers à mon mod. Je veux qu'il soit réaliste et l'avoir correspondre avec histiore.

I don't plant to add wizards and magic to my mod. I want it to correspond with history.

I see some inspiration from Skyrim here. Nice.
Doesn't Baubles come with Forge? Or do you have to download them separately?
Baubles is an api mod not created by the forge team. It is not included with forge.
You sure? Because it's usually bundled with Forge like Mincroblocks is, I believe.
You might not have been downloading your Forge from the official site if those mods are packaged with it.

Yeah, I don't think there's any mods bundled with the official forge download.

Gargoyles. Must have gargoyles. I've needed that final touch on my builds for quite some time now. Also, you look like you know what you're doing. Great work so far.
Gargoyles are actually from a the renaissance time pediod, not the medieval period (middle age, i mean)

I'm not sure where you heard that. They actually existed in Greek, Minoan, Roman, Goth, Ancient Egyptian, and other architecture as well. They're most commonly associated with Catholic and Renaissance period architecture, but are by no means limited to that era. Also, I figured few realize that gargoyles are actually decorated gutter spouts, so I used the term to refer to small statues in general.
Thanks. I'll add gargoyles too
