This mod adds the netherite ingot in 1.15.2. You don't need to go to the nether to pick it, it will spawn in the overworld, between the layers 27 and 2.
If you put it into the furnace, it will transform into netherite ingot, that you can do your tools and armor.

No, the netherite is not blast proof. In a vein, like 2, and in a chunk, 6 ores

Suggestion: the system you are using for getting netherite is actually from the 1.16 snapshots, instead just give a gui to the smithing table to make the gear
