This mod gives you the feeling of being a man from the stone age. No more magically created planks from wood logs; the way to your first crafting table is long and dangerous. In prehistoric ages, animals were not domesticated, and the same applies to this mod. There are no cows, sheeps, pigs, or chickens. Instead you'll find their ancestors (aurochs, mouflons, boars, and fowls), all of whom are quit upset when you attack them or their friends.

New blocks

  • Flint workbench - Allows you to craft primitive tools & another useful things. To craft an item from the workbench, right-click it with a flint knife.
  • Drying rack - Necessary for drying grass.
  • Tanning rack - Used for tanning raw hide. Right-click raw hide with a flint knife multiple times until leather is produced. Then right-click with empty hand to remove the leather.
  • Stone chest - Doesn't have much space, but still useful.
  • Tree stump - If you want planks, you must chop your logs first!
  • Aqueduct - Allows you to transfer water nearer to your crops. To activate watering with the aqueduct, right-click it with an empty hand. You should then see bubbles if it is activated and has water. Activated aqueducts also randomly apply a bone meal effect to nearby crops and grass.
  • Dried grass bed - Not as soft as a wool bed, but you can still sleep there.
  • Feeder - If you want your animals to grow faster, you definitely need this.
  • Millstone - Necessary if you want to mill your wheat to flour or sugar canes to sugar. Shift-right-click with an empty hand to insert or remove items, then right-click to activate the mill. Your item will be milled after four rotations.
  • Fishing net - Used for catching fish and other items. Just place in water and add a grass or cobweb mesh.

New items

  • Venison - Drops from deer.
  • Fat - Drops from animals.
  • Auroch meat - Drops from aurochs.
  • Boar meat - Drops from boars.
  • Fowl meat - Drops from fowls.
  • Mouflon meat - Drops from mouflons.
  • Mammoth meat - Drops from mammoths.
  • Woolly rhino meat - Drops from woolly rhinos.
  • Saber-tooth tiger meat - Drops from saber-tooth tigers.
  • Raw hide - Unprocessed hide, must be tanned to be used as leather.
  • Antler - Drops from deer. Your first tools can be made from it.
  • Unlit torch - Made from a stick and fat, but then you must light it.
  • Bone arrow head - Arrows are made from bones.
  • Leather strip - Thin leather strips allow you to stitch your first armor and create better tools.
  • Fish bone - Drops from fish.
  • Flour - Milling wheat produces flour.
  • Bread dough - Made from flour and sugar. You must bake it in a furnace before eating.
  • Flint spear - Allows you to attack your enemies from a distance. Does more damage than arrows!
  • Mammoth tusk - You can get a lot of bone meal from it.
  • Saber-tooth teeth - Used for crafting.
  • Rhino tusk - Used for crafting.
  • Backpack - Each provides 15 additional storage slots.
  • Stone tablet - Contains all information about this mod. (require Patchouli mod)
  • Dried grass - Crafting item.
  • Grass lead - Crafting item, used for bone tools.
  • Grass and Cobweb mesh - Used inside fishing net

New mobs

  • Deer - Very fearful, but their antlers are necessary for your tools. Just catch them!
  • Boar - Ancestor of pigs. All boars around will attack when you hit one of them.
  • Auroch - Ancestor of cows. All aurochs around will attack when you hit one of them.
  • Fowl - Ancestor of chickens. All fowls around will attack when you hit one of them.
  • Mouflon - Ancestor of sheep. All mouflons around will attack when you hit one of them.
  • Mammoth - A big boy with a lot of hearts. As with other mobs, the whole group can attack when you hit one of them.
  • Saber-tooth tiger - Big cat, very hostile so circumvent her by far.
  • Woolly rhino - Peaceful animal, but like, other mobs, all will attack when you hit one of them.

New structures

  • Abandoned camp - A long abandoned camp with tanning and drying racks, a bed, a flint workbench and chest with a few items that were left behind.
  • Burial place - A small structure with a few pillars in a circle with hidden treasure.

Another useful things

  • You can make fire by dropping dried grass the on ground and right-clicking with a stick in your left and right hand.
  • Wild animals can be bred to their domesticated (vanilla) forms after three generations. The generation of the child is calculated as the minimum of the two parents' age plus one. Thus, do not breed children with parents, as their generation will stay the same.

Changes to vanilla

  • Crafting table - The crafting table can only be crafted and used after you have managed to breed cows, sheeps, pigs and chickens.
  • Wooden tools - All wooden tool recipes have been removed. You must craft bone tools instead.
  • Torch - It is not possible to craft lit torches. Instead you must first make fire and then right-click the fire with an unlit torch.
  • Bread - Cooked in a furnace from bread dough.
  • Fences and Fence gates - Can be crafted in the same way as in vanilla on the flint workbench.
  • Slabs and planks - Put stone or log on a tree stump and swing (left click) two times with a hammer (for stone slabs or an axe (for wooden slabs).
  • Bone meal - Can be made on a tree stump by crushing bones with a hammer.
  • Leather - Can be made by tanning rawhide on a tanning rack.
  • Sugar - Milled from sugar cane.
  • Campfire, Hay block, Bow, Arrow, Furnace, Lead, Leather armor, and Stone tools - All of these items can be made in the same way as vanilla on a flint workbench
  • Planks - Can be made by chopping logs on a tree stump with an axe.
  • Wooden items can only be harvested with an axe.

I can't seem to successfully light unlit torches? I can make fire by using the stick and dry grass method or flint and steel, but when I right click the fire with the unlit torch nothing happens. Help please! I very much enjoy the pack but I'm getting roadblocked from progressing right now.

Really cool mod! This has become one of my new favorites to use in my downtime.

Only issue so far is that I'm having trouble disabling the saber-tooths or reducing their spawn rates in the spawn configurations in the TOML file in the world save. It doesn't seem to make any changes to the saber tooth spawning. Is there something I am doing wrong or this a bug?

all looking awesome, but perhaps you could use better art and models to fit 1.14 style

I know that models are not the best, but I do all myself. I appreciate every help if someone can provide me better models

I think I still have a folder with unused models somewhere. If I find them, you can use any of them if you like them

Lookin’ good! How about some bushes with fruits/berries that generate in forests. To include the gathering aspect of the stone age.

There are already vanilla berries in game, maybe I can change generation to spawn them in more biomes

Ah, didnt know that. Havent played for a few years. What is the difference between watering with the aquaduct and just a water block?

First you cannot craft bucket in "stone age" until you gain access to crafting table, so you cannot move water around, but you can build aquaduct and water farmland around when you activate it with right-click on aquaduct. Another useful thing is that aquaduct randomly apply bonemeal effect on nearby crops
