Surface Dirt mod adds a new dirt block to the game. This block is not full size and is shorter than normal dirt blocks. To craft it you need to craft in the following way.

X = Dirt

X - X
X - X

Heres a screenshot. :P (First mod, was easy to make though)

The dirt surface seems useful for making dirt roads without the concern of grass covering it. Perhaps you could add pebbled dirt for more variety and the pebbles could be elevated at the level of the grass to give more dimension.
