- THE GAME - This map is a horror adventure/challenge map based on the Alien franchise. You do not need to know the movies, games or anything else as everything important is explained on the map and the premise of the map is simple: solve tasks, survive and escape. The map can be played with 1 - 4 players and is also designed to be replayed as the map focuses on a round-based horror survival experience. With each new playthrough you unlock new items, gadgets, information, etc. Besides, there are challenges you can try out to get special rewards. To make each run as individual and interesting as possible, the game's difficulty level and the behavior patterns of the hunter, called Xenomorph (Alien), will adapt to your play style. There are random aspects that change things when you play through the map a few times, for example, corridors can be blocked, enemies lay traps, etc. . |
- DEVELOPMENT - The map has been in development for nearly a year with long breaks in between. The map is completly vanilla minecraft, you do not need any mods as this map runs over a datapack and custom texturepack. The base game is already done but there is still a lot of work to do. I will keep everyone that is intrested in this project updated, in the list below you can see how far the progress on diffrent parts of the project development are. Also the image gallery shows a few parts of the map as well as the Xenomorph model. You are as always welcome to share idears, thoughts or opinion in the comment section, as long as it is constructive. |

GAMEPLAY QUESTIONS - QUESTIONS REGARDING GAMEPLAY - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION 1: Will I be able to play the map with friends in multiplayer or a LAN-World? AWNSER 1: YES! But the open BETA version might be signle player or coop only. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION 2: Do I need to be good in parcour, puzzles or PVP/PVE? AWNSER 2: NO! You do not need to be good in anything listed above but you should have a good situationalawareness to avoid beeing found. All tasks/missions have mission markers that you canfollow and you will be reminded in chat when you still have an open task to complete. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION 3: How does a game/round of ALIEN STALKER work? AWNSER 3: You start onboard of a spaceship which will function as your HUB/LOBBY. From here you will select everything you need for example PERKS, ITEMS, EQUIPMENT. When you decide to start the round you will start in the control room of a colony building which has been currputed by unkown organisims. From here on you will have to try to complete tasks for your escape. TECHNICAL QUESTIONS - TECHNICAL QUESTIONS - --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION 1: How do I download this map? AWNSER 1: KLICK HERE FOR A TUTORIAL ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION 2: How do I install this map on a server? AWNSER 2:Step 1: Get a server that supports FTP (File Transfer Protocols), for example (Nitrado, Mine Hoster etc...) Most servers have a dedicated TAB for connecting to FTP applications. Step 2: Download a FTP-Data transaction tool to transfer the world folder to the server, for example (FileZilla) Step 3: Stop the server and then enter the required connection data into your programm of choice (SERVER: <IP> | USER NAME: <SERVER NAME> | PASSWORD: <SERVER PASSWORD> | PORT: <21> Step 4: Drag and drop the world folder to the server world folder. Make sure to first delete or rename the already existing world folder on your minecraft server. Step 5: After the download is finished rename the downloaded world file to "world" and start the server. (Maybe I will make a tutorial video on how to do it) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION 3: Does the map lag? AWNSER 3: Depending on your computer and your minecraft settings the map might lag when you first join and activate the custom texturepack. To be on the safe side set your render distance and simiulation distance to a maximum of 10 chunks (or lower). As the map runs on a datapack there is hardly any redstone to cause lag. But be aware that when playing on a server you will need to ajust the server settings (commandblocks: ture / server render distance: >10). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION 4: What does the game difficulty change? AWNSER 4: There are 5 difficulty leves. They are calculated depending on the players experience with the map (PLAYER LEVEL). With each difficulty level a XENOMORPH is added to the map. There are for sure some grammatical mistakes in the Map as english is not my primary language but I will try to reduce the mistakes in a future update!
To answer your graphics card question, you do not need a good graphics card as you point out to run the map but rendering issues might appear when running with older versions (happened during testing to me).
