Alma College, in St. Thomas Ontario, Canada was a Ladies Private College designed by architect James Balfour from 1878-1881 in the High Victorian Gothic style. It operated as a successful college from 1881 to 1959, when it began to struggle financially throughout the 70's until its complete abandonment in 1988 due to a teacher's strike. The building was bought and sold by several owners and gutted, dispite local protests to preserve the building as a historic site.
Alma College caught fire on May 28, 2008 which stripped the building of much of it's inner structural components, leading to many of the walls falling down. The ruin was torn down shortly thereafter.
This is my recreation of it, at least the best I could conjure. I have fully completed the exterior but the interiors are empty for now. Please let me know what you think!
