This is ArdaCraft’s recreation of Barad Ethir (“Tower at the River-mouth”), one of our first non-canonical villages.

Barad Ethir is a coastal town located in Harlindon. Harlindon was a region on the southern shores of the Gulf of Lhûn and west of the Blue Mountains, inhabited entirely by elves. The elves who lived in Barad Ethir were Sindar elves who had settled in Harlindon after the War of Wrath.

The Sindar or Grey Elves were Elves of Telerin descent who once inhabited Beleriand, the land to the west of the Blue Mountains that was nearly entirely sunk beneath the waves at the end of the First Age.

They belonged to the Teleri who had set out on the Great Journey to Valinor, although faltered along the way and never reached Valinor itself. However, under the rule of Thingol and Melian in Doriath they still became the fairest, most wise and skilful of the elves who did not finish the journey. Given their status as Moriquendi (“Elves of the Darkness” who never saw the light of the Two Trees in Valinor), and their high esteem amongst the Caliquendi (“Elves of the Light”) they are sometimes referred to as "Elves of the Twilight".

Barad Ethir can be viewed from above on ArdaCraft's dynmap. There is no download available, but ArdaCraft is a non-whitelisted server which anyone is welcome to come and explore, provided they have installed our modpack first.
