Battleship Volya

Hmmm, this is my first project that I put on this site, I am a new author, I hope you like my work!

The battleship «Volya» also known as the «Emperor Alexander III» was built as an Empress Maria-class dreadnought battleship for the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Empire.

The ship was laid down in 1911 in the city of Nikolaev at the shipyard «Russud», the construction was completed in 1914, but arrived in Sevastopol to equip the main armament only in 1917, when it was already renamed «Volya».

But in the spring of the same 1917, Ukrainian national movement of sailors and officers broke out in Sevastopol.
One of the first ships to defect to the Ukrainian People's Republic was the battleship «Volya».
And on December 22 of the same year, the ship's crew proclaimed its subordination to the Commissar General of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Black Sea Fleet of Ukraine.
