Hello!

Whist here with the beginnings of a project I have had in the planning for a long time, but never really had the time to start... Not that I have the time now, but boredom and procrastination always prevail.

I decided though, that it would help me to progress in this build by posting my progress as I make it. (Don't expect constant/frequent updates as life always comes first).

The project as is is currently under a working title as I don't really know what to call it, so if you like what you see and you want to see more please favorite & follow as the name is subject to change. I am also open to suggestions as the build is ongoing, so I may run into creative road blocks.

I currently have two names I am juggling for the name of the city. Those being "Thimheim" or "Dirudahn". Let me know which one you like or if you have a suggestion for a better name. I just recently fleshed out the interior of the cave more by placing a number of massive crystals throughout the cavern surrounding the great bridge (also needs a name). The bridge leads to and then through the great arena (also, also, needs a proper name). This is designed as a choke point in which the dwarves can fire arrows down upon any invaders that may attempt to take the city. This area will always be actively patrolled thanks to the 4 guard rooms/barracks that will be placed around the arena.

My Goals are as follows:
  • 1st - To build the largest dwarven city I have ever built, and maybe ever in Minecraft.
  • 2nd - To get better at building (organics/boats mostly). One can always improve themselves.
  • 3rd - I didn't think this part thought... really only have 2 goals...
  • 4th - Have fun I guess
When Photos get cycled they will all be posted here! (Click Me!)

Update #1 Caves, Crystals and Arenas. : by Whisterria 11/12/2020 3:32:13 pmNov 12th, 2020

Hey! Major Updated Number 1#

I have started a few major works so far and gotten closer to completing a few as well. I have fleshed out the interior of the cave more by adding large crystals to the floor, ceiling, walls and pillars. I do plan however, to add more stalagmites and stalactites when I get closet to its completion. I also plan on trying to give the bottom half of the cave a foggy appearance to make it look like a larger drop then it actually is. I have a few ideas on how to complete this idea. The Braziers along the bridge have been lit! or more accurately filled with lava.

I also, have began work on the "arena" as I have dubbed it so far (name pending). Its job is to create a choke point for anyone entering and leaving the city. This would allow the inhabitants of the city to better defend themselves from any invaders by forcing them to go through the arena. With the balcony being guarded continuously it would not take long for them to awaken all 4 of the Barracks that are being constructed around the balcony.

Future plans!

I have many future plans for the direction of the city. Being a dwarven city it is of course going to require a massive forge, and mines that delve to deep. Much of the main cave I am going to create using WorldPainter as I did with the one the bridge goes through. this one however is going to be a tad different though. As I plan to have the majority of the city being suspended by massive chains over a pool of lava. Largely inspired by Blackrock Mountains in World of Warcraft. This will be an interesting and hopefully fun creation.

Thanks for reading!

why you don't make a version history in update log?

In hindsight that does make a lot more sense.
