Vault 93 is one of 122 underground shelters built by Vault-Tec. Each one could protect around 1000 people from the horror of nuclear armageddon on the surface. The vaults were built with everything a person could want, such as nearly-endless food and a pool. However, the vaults concealed a dark secret. Vaults were designed as cruel, social experiments using humans as lab-rats. Vault 68, for example, held 999 men with only 1 woman. Vault 77 held only 1 man alone with a crate of puppets. There were only 17 control vaults, built to public expectations. Vault 93 was not one of them. (Experiment coming soon!)
