NOTE: This is NOT a replica of the Lexington-Class carrier from World War 2! This is my own design for a fleet carrier airship. Also, like all of my other builds, this ship was built with the Elveland Light texture pack. http://resourcepack.net/elveland-light-resource-pack/
I would like to thank Xtasy8132 for getting me interested in building world war 2-style planes. The aircraft we have developed are very similar, yet different in design.
I KNOW the iship was hastily built, and as a result, the interior leaves much to be desired. The ship was designed as a mobile command ship, and will remain as such. The ship features a small storage/sleep area, a command bridge, an aircraft command bridge, an engineering room, a flight deck, and a large interior hangar. There was space to include a full interior in the ship, but I had to fill that in with wool in order to make the ship flyable and able to withstand torpedo and tnt attacks.
The ship currently carries no offensive armament, and the armor does not cover the entire hull, making the ship extremely vulnerable to fireguns. The ship carries 7 fighters, 4 torpedo bombers, and 4 dive bombers (The dive bombers cannot actually dive). The ship's loadout can be configured to have all fighters or all bombers, and the maximum number of planes that the ship can carry varies per loadout. The planes are brought to the hangar deck via the aircraft elevator located towards the aft section of the ship.
As with all of my other builds, this ship was designed with movecraft and factions in mind. It requires a movecraft type that uses 30%-80% wool as the flyblock, uses quartz and coal blocks as the separator between the planes and the ship, and carries netherbrick blocks/stairs/fences. The elevator must use a movecraft type that can connect to all blocks used on the carrier movecraft type except for quartz and coal blocks. It also must have the 'vertical movement only' function enabled. The planes must use a movecraft type that uses 40%-80% wool as the flyblock, and they cannot connect to quartz blocks, coal blocks, or netherbrick blocks/stairs/fences. The carrier itself includes furnaces in the event that fuel is required. The torpedoes must use a movecraft type that has the 'cruise on pilot' and 'explode on contact' options enabled. Furnaces are present in the event that fuel is required. NONE of the movecraft types can have dirt, sand, stone, stone bricks, etc as allowed blocks.
