UPDATE: I'm in the process of majorly redoing about half of the castle to make it more accurate. I am also reverting back to the design from the 4th-6th films, instead of the Deathly Hallows castle. Check out the update logs and pictures above for more details.

We've all seen Hogwarts Castle models in Minecraft before, but never like this...

This is not only the most accurate model of Hogwarts I have personally ever seen made in Minecraft (and I've looked...) but I've also completed the entire interior of the castle!! Well, most of it. There's a lot to do. I work on it every once in a while as I have time, but I'd say confidently that 70% of the castle's interior has been completed in some way, and with quite a lot of detail. Everything from the very top of the tallest towers down deep into the dungeons below the lake has been mapped out.

I've done my homework to try and make this as accurate as possible, but I will say this: I've chosen to prioritize the film's Hogwarts over the book's when necessary. For example, most of the classrooms are on the correct floors, but their locations are based on where they are in the films, and also where it logically made sense in the layout of the buildings.

Check it out and let me know what you think! The grounds are not complete but you can explore the interior of Hogwarts in probably the most detail you'll find ANYWHERE :D

Give this project a diamond if you like what I've done here :-) There will be much more content coming in bits and pieces.

Additional Notes

My model is primarily based on the castle's layout in the Deathly Hallows film, but with a few slight differences. I kept the viaduct and entrance hall courtyard from Half Blood Prince because I think that's more of the "classic" orientation for that bridge. I also used the marble staircase layout from Deathly Hallows (where it's one long staircase up) instead of the moving stairs because it was easier to build, and felt more accurate to the books.

Most of the interior of the castle has been completed but there are a few areas that aren't done yet. I'll keep updating the model download link as I make changes. I work on this little bit little every once in a while so it's slow going but progress is being made.

I did most of the exterior cliff work using a mod that is no longer compatible with the new minecraft so I'm not sure how to finish the landscaping...maybe one day I'll find a good mod that DOES work and finish it but I'm focusing on the interiors for now.
Creditcredit to the creators of Sphax Pure BDCraft, at least for now until I get my own texture pack.

Update #11 - Making significant progress on castle updates : by gronnoc484 12/28/2016 11:10:23 amDec 28th, 2016

Hi everyone! Over the last month I've been working on some big improvements to the castle to bring areas that were not entirely accurate more up-to-par with the model used in the film. I have also decided to go back and change portions of the castle that I originally modeled after Deathly Hallows and instead base them off of the castle in Goblet of Fire through Half Blood Prince. Here's what that entails:
  • Increasing the height of the "Quad" building by almost double the current height, and redoing the window patterns.

  • Changing the layout of the Quad (roof, towers) to match the 6th film version, rather than Deathly Hallows version

  • shifting the clock tower to a new height to match with the taller quad

  • Shifting the Great Hall up higher to line up better with the aquaduct

  • Redoing the boathouse in the style of the first 6 films

  • Redoing the marble staircase in the "moving stairs" style from the first 6 films

This is a lot to do! Bear with me!

Uhh... Hi!

I'm new to this website and I'm not sure if you have to ask permission for these things, but I was thinking about starting a YouTube channel and I was wondering if I could review or just explore, or maybe a RP series if I would ever get around to it, on YouTube

That would be pretty cool! I'm reworking a big chunk of the castle right now so you might want to wait a bit until I've finished that though.
