Hey!

I'm back with another recreation of the famous Hogwarts castle. this time I used sandstone as the main material which is something that I haven't used in a long time.
I also used the new prismarine blocks for the roof, they work really well and it gives the roof a dark, old and mossy texture.
The castle is surrounded with custom made trees and terrain.

If you like builds like this let me know by giving me a Diamond, Commenting or perhaps even Favouriting! :)

I really love the diagonal hall.

Building diagonally is a beast to work with, as I found out with http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/vaubans-fortress/ (where the back entrance is completely diagonal, including piston doors).

Haha thank you! That means a lot to me, even though I don't agree with you, there are definitely people who are much better than me! :D
No seriously your hogwarts builds are the best out there. ALL of them and thats the part that almost makes me mad. ALL of your hogwarts builds are in the top 5 list. The only builders that are on your level are the guys that made this: http://i.imgur.com/kJOOkNf.jpg and this http://i.imgur.com/NCVTKGk.png Other than that you beat pretty much everyone else, especially with your details. Pisses me off that you "only" get 1,5k views you deserve 1,5 MILLIONs. There are builds that are SO SHITTY and have like 2 million views...

That will always be a problem, unfortunately there's noting I can do about it. All I can do is post my projects, get some feedback and awesome comments from guys like yourself, and that's part of the things that keep me motivated create more! ;)

I'm not sure if I'll make more interior, I'm unable to work on the castle atm, so even IF I decide to make more interior it will most likely take a while.

I don't know! :D I guess I'm addicted to it xD
Why do you prefer having the great hall "crooked"? Also how long time does it take to make the terrain and with what program do you do the trees etc. i need advice!

If you look at the original model of Hogwarts that is used in the movies, the great hall is diagonal relative to the rest of the castle.
I used Mcedit for the mountains that the castle is located on and WorldPainter for the surrounding mountains. The trees were built by hand and then turned into schematics using Mcedit, and then I used WorldPainter to add them to the map. I'm sure you can find a better explanation on Youtube. :)
I know the castle is "kinda" diagonal like 30 degrees max but doesnt it make it way harder to build? Mine is straight anyway... Which feature in mcedit? Also do you have any advice to make the reception hall and that side of the great hall not look so flat?  http://imgur.com/a/BEksn Or any advice in general (its a wip tho so i might have changed it already since i posted this like a week ago)

Maybe it's more difficult but I like challanges! ;) I'm using the sphere brush, try to come up with some nice window designs that are more than 1 layer, it gives the build a bit more depth. :) I'd also recommend raising the castle up more and perhaps lowering the water level if neccesary.

GEEZ DUDE! That is Massive!
I could possibly make a role-play map with this?
May I have your permission to turn this into a role-play map?
I am really good with command blocks and I was hoping I could turn this into a role-play map or server.
Thanks for building this epic map.
Also, is there any way I can contact you or your build team?
I am a good builder, but:
I don't have Skype, YouTube, Facebook, etc.
All I have is this site and all I know how to make in the way of servers is LAN, which NOBODY has EVER found XDD...Please help and reply to my question..
Thanks!
