Interchange Project

After 3 months of planning and building, I finally completed this interchange. This highway connects NE 1 to Highway 12/Almaden Rd. Before the tunnel, I built an elevated highway and the interchange was designed around that. The problem was lack of space, many design constraints, and it was just an eyesore. I decided after 2 years of keeping the elevated highway, I demolished it in favor of a tunnel. Additionally, changes to the frontage road were made.

This interchange has 16 ramps and 5 tunnels. The main NE 1 tunnel has 2 bores with 2 additional bores as exit and entry points. The 5th tunnel is part of the highway 12 --> Almaden Rd connector. This interchange is between the starting point of highway 12 and end point of Almaden Rd (and vice versa). There are 2 automated toll collection gantries (one on each side).
