Hi Folks!
Rova here again with another ship for ya'll! She's called the Kumori Koukai, which means "Ship of Shadows" in Japanese!
LOVE this ship. Just saying, I had a TON of fun making this, and that Sail... nothing ever done like that before, guaranteed. Over half of this ship is new things I've never done before: New hull shape, more use of interior space, new sails, new layouts.. so exciting!
Time for some lore!
The Kumori Koukai - Ship of Shadows
In a celebration of honor for their Beloved Empress Callista, the Kasian Province brought their best builders together to create a luxury Royal Ship that would be absolutely perfect for her Highness. They contracted a completely unique hull design, derived from the classic Sorian Defense Cruisers and outfitted with thick Obsidian Armor to take just about any kind of punishment. A grand throne chamber overlooks much of the main deck interior, complete with a large lounge, two hibachi dining tables, a bar, and two balconies. The Empress's Royal Quarters are tucked snugly under the throne stairs, and boasts the largest cabin space on board the ship. Staircases link the decks to the Command deck above and the Cannon, Guest, and Crew decks below. The ship has room for up to 6 of the Empress's honored dignitary visitors, and for their leisure, an extra lounge and hot tub was installed on the guest deck for their comfort. There are enough rooms for up to 20 full time crew members on board, including officers.
With her Highness's safety in mind, the ship was not constructed without ample defenses. Any enemy vessel foolish enough to come close to the Kumori Koukai would find itself overwhelmed by over 64 light cannons, and a bow-mounted heavy cannon guaranteed to crack a ship's hull in two. For those situations when speed is necessary, twin double propeller engines were mounted just below the engineering deck for added velocity.
Schematic will be available soon!
*** UPDATE ***
Schematic is now publically available.
Enjoy!
