A battle amongst the two most iconic swordsmen!
Introducing Link VS. Cloud
-----------
This project was mostly a test to see how quickly I can complete large organics. This project took me roughly 8 hours, which is fast compared to previous projects. I know I could have added details such as large organic flowers, but I decided not to.
-----------
Construction Process:
I started by constructing an outline by hand.

Next I built around the outline with voxel sniper's ball brush. I then smoothed down the shape with the blend brush, melt brush, and by hand.

The white wool was changed to the green wool. Link's man skirt was outlined and constructed manually.

Constructed Link's boots and belt. A combination of the splatter ball brush and manual placement was used to mix up the texture for Link's clothes, belt, and shoes.

Constructed the Glove

Started the shield. The shield was outlined then filled in by hand.

Continuing the shield.

Finished the shield. And the small version of link.

In the end I doubled the size. Basically, I copied and pasted the blocks so that a single block would be increase to a 2 by 2 cube. Then I smoothed out the shape manually and with the voxelsniper. From what I experienced, making large organics this way is easier, but it took longer than I expected. It would be faster just to construct the organic intentional size first. I also changed the position of his shield, so it could have a bit more interaction with Cloud. I simply rotated the shield and rebuilt the arm and glove.

Like before, I started with a miniature outline.

Next, I shaped the body while using the outline as a guide.

Instead of doubling the size at the end, I doubled the size prior to the detailing and texturing. Due to the shape being doubled, the shape became more disfigured, leading me to reshape the body.

Textured and detailed the body. I simply used the voxelsniper to replace the blocks and added small details, such as the zipper, by hand.

Here, I started with the flowing piece of clothing. Here I outlined the edge of it.

Completed the head, and started on the sword. Not much of it left!
