This reference map has all the technical extra's needed for the MAGIC event

The instructions for a challenge-approved arena outlined on the event page might be too complex to understand. That's why I made this map with all the redstoney bits and bobs you need for each of the levels. However, because I'm terrible at building, each of the rooms is just a drawing on the ground, although it does make it easier to understand.

Level 1 is in green.
Level 2 is in orange.
Level 3 is in blue.

Within each level, the lobby is marked with a circle, the armories with an arrow and the arena with a cross.

Each level contains all the redstone from the previous level and all new command blocks/redstone are marked with colored concrete.

It might look overwhelming at first, but just focus on one color and play around a bit to understand how things work. Good luck with the event and enjoy!

Kinda poked around this map & made some progress on my arena.

The (intimidating) command that returns the players back to the lobby, does it work only at 1 vs 1 (the PvP) or is it also functional for a more battle royale? I mean, I recon, I have enough space to make more armories than 2.
For example with 4 players, will it still activate with the last man standing or does it kick in when the first player is out?

All commands in the "arena" (square with cross) work regardless of the amount of players, but neither will teleport the last player automatically:
- In the orange zone (LVL 2), a command is added that teleports all players without wand to the lobby.
- In the blue zone (LVL 3), a couple commands are added that place the buttons back in the lobby when there is nobody left.

I hope you don't mind some more questions (also from a person who doesn't play on servers & is not familiar with those mini-games/systems):

+ So if I understand correctly, the players that lose their wand will be teleported back.
---> How do they lose their wand? not by being dead in-game I suppose, hence the teleport system.

+ The last man standing a.k.a. the winner, how does that person return?
--> by throwing away the wand?
--> a LVL 4 system that automatically knowns there is only one left?
--> stuck for eternity?
--> exit game...?

+ The teleport/coordinate's in the command blocks are hard coded.
--> does that mean these arena's are kept stand-alone?
--> if a server want's to incorporate an arena, do they need to update all the coordinates or can that be done automatically? Or is there some other stuff happening I am not familiar with?
--> side question, any tips to get easy relative coordinates for command blocks (useful for other projects of mine in the future)

This is getting a bit lengthy, so I'll put it in a spoiler :P

Answers
1) On purpose. It's one of the easiest way to let the player choose to leave.
2) Yes, throw out the wand.

You can replace the "If no-one left" command from lvl 3 with a "count players left" command, with: "/execute as @e[type=minecraft:marker] run execute if entity @s". You can then attach a comparator (without repeater), 2 redstone dust, then a block with a redstone torch on it (= inverter) and then more redstone dust into the command blocks that tp the nearest player (@p, assuming that would be the player in the arena) and place the buttons again. Like this:

C > - - B / - - - - - - CCC

C = command block
> = comparator
- = redstone
B = block
/ = redstone torch

The effect is that as soon as there is only 1 player is left, the redstone strength dips below 2, which allows the redstone torch to come on and power all the command blocks.
3) Yes, arena's can be downloaded separately. As long as the server hosts the entire map (possible as a separate dimension), there is no need to change coordinates. Relative coordinates look like "~x ~y ~z" (instead of "x y z") and no, there is no easy way to figure out the relative offsets. (Except punching in both coordinate sets in a calculator to find the difference).
