1:1 scale of the Mansyu Ki-79b, the first one is an orange training livery from China, and the other one is with the captured Indonesian livery I based this one from the one I found in Satria Mandala Museum in Jakarta, Indonesia (the only surviving Ki-79 in the world)

About the plane:
二式高等練習機 (Type 2 Advanced Trainer) Nishikoren

Production of the Ki-79 aircraft began in Manchuria on January 19, 1943, under Japanese occupation. Two versions were made simultaneously: the Ki-79a single-seat trainer and the Ki-79b two-seat trainer. They were similar to the Ki-27 with a few differences, notably the open cockpit.

The Ki-79 had a single engine and a low-wing design. It was either all-metal or mixed construction, depending on the version. The landing gear didn't retract, and it had a tail wheel. The cockpit was open, and the tail unit was cantilevered.

In terms of appearance and equipment, the Ki-79 resembled the Ki-27. The main distinctions were in the engine and armament. The Ki-79a and Ki-79v used a 9-cylinder air-cooled Hitachi Ha-13a-1 engine. The Ki-79s and Ki-79d had a mixed structure with a steel fuselage frame and wooden components in the wing.

For armament, the Ki-79a had one 7.7 mm Type 89 machine gun, while the Ki-79v was unarmed. The Ki-79s, however, were equipped with a 250 kg bomb under the fuselage for kamikaze missions.

Note:
20th aircraft. Hey back again with the Japanese trainer aircraft, today we have something special again in my heart. Like the previous plane I posted, this aircraft was once flown by the Indonesia's air force during its early days. I saw this plane with my own eyes too! Yes, this plane still exist irl and you can find it in the Satria Mandala Museum in Jakarta, Indonesia. Btw for you that are wondering what's with the 'Nishikoren' naming, it's an acronym for the Japanese long designation same as the 'Tjoereng' from the previous post. Like always/ I hope you enjoy and I'll see you on the next one!
