Marland is a medium-sized 4k Summer Survival Friendly Terrain for Java made by McMeddon. It contains sunny beaches infront of the hard cold cliffs of Marland, huge mountains and wide plains. Enjoy the wide grass fields of the center and travel alongside the coast on rocky sandy beaches.

This map was as a follow-up map to Rocky Forest, summer map. The key idea was to have huge and steep cliffs with wide open build areas, a huge bay to build in and 2 mountain ranges that separate the island comparable with island and Greenland areas, so it's definitely a Nordic map for sure. Open fields and dense forest should make building easy and enjoyable. Detailed texturing and the sheer impressiveness is making this map an absolute eyecandy.

TLDR: it can vary between 30-50

its depending on the map, during creation i insert a "coast" node to give a clear edge on the coast, depending on on map style and map height construction and the looks i want to have for the map, it can vary between 30-50

This on is at 42 for example

I love how you used Gaea to make it. I have just gotten into using that for minecraft maps. Any tips or links for someone wanting to learn more about Gaea to Minecraft process?

The Gaea developers did some good advanced tutorials.

There are a few channels with some good knowledge, but currently the resources are limited and the best way to learn it is by simply do, try and create stuff :)

at a reasonable size (youtube), i will do a few tutorials how to approach common stuff and how to do all of that :) - if you have experiences with world machine, you can translate a lot of procedures into Gaea.

There are a lot more World machine tutorials currently available c: so ya

Honestly, those few renders with the minecraft type of clouds rendered, you're realizing it is still minecraft and not some more or less actual real-life picture.

totally what i was going for :D

i absolutely love those stylized renders for other maps, but i always thought... its to flashy... to much deviated and saturation to convince me that these maps are "real" so , so thats why i tried to create those "none-flashy" ones. And seems that you and people like it, which puts a huge smile on my face c:
