Hello,
this is my entry for the Pumpkin Carving Contest. With this build I wanted to focus more on the "carving" in "Pumpkin Carving".
But it would have been super oldschool if I had to carve pumpkins all by myself, right?
So, I ordered a mars rover, equipped it with a chainsaw and a claw and now it can carve the pumpkin's face all by itself. Why a mars rover? Why not!
With the advancing automation of everything and industry 4.0 I got the idea of a carving robot which should be able to carve pumpkins with varying faces. For that the robot should have an artifical intelligence with a neural network feeded with thousands of pictures of carved pumpkins. This way you don't have to program a special face into the robot and it is able to come up with its own face designs.
I wanted to build a mars rover like "Curiosity" for a very long time. But when you look at pictures of mars rovers next to people, the rovers are very small. They are too small for 1:1 building in Minecraft. So I had to procrastinate building a mars rover until now.
At first, I had the rover and the pumpkin roaming freely on my iconic superflat grass plane. But this way the rover looked huge and the pumpkin extraterrestrial. And I don't know if people outside of Earth celebrate halloween...
That's why I constructed a table to put the rover and pumpkin onto, so that you and me as observers get a feeling for the size of everything.
Since the pumpkin is as big as the rover and the rover seemingly holds his arms like a boxer, I called this creation "Mars Rover vs. Pumpkin" instead of the more neutral "Pumpkin Carving Robot".
The lever on top of the rover toggles the flames of the large candle and the tea light inside of the pumpkin.
Enjoy!

I just wanted to enter with something creative and that is fun to look at.
And it had to include a vehicle of course ^^
It really is silly but that makes it fun to look at. And who would not like to have a pumpkin carving mars rover?! :P
A vehicle that's fighting pickles? Or a pickle that's fighting vehicles? O.o
Either way, most likely not. I don't build two times the same thing.
If I did, each one would become less special. And I want my builds to be special and not a mass product.
