The only lack of detail I can think of in the roof design is probably just a lack of chimneys. Otherwise the buildings looks reasonably functional. This is where I draw the line of detail. If you otherwise want to think of "stairs and slabs", In my opinion is highly required for a reason for things to be placed. I personally think of their class in social location. In this case I think of a commoner. They have no need of ornate features as I find it very unfitting for their title of a peasant. Otherwise, hamlets are generally unremarkable as they are very small.
