Minecraft party is a four-player game loosely based on Mario PartyTM. This game features more than 10 different shop items, more than 27 four-for-all minigames and more than 5 duel minigames.
Minecraft Version: 1.17.1
Estimated Gameplay Time: 2 hours
Number of Players: 4 (no more or less)
Basic Gameplay
The main objective for players is to earn the greatest number of stars at the end of the game. Stars can be bought using coins whenever the player passes the star seller. With each star purchase, the star seller moves to another random location on the board. From each player’s turn, they have the opportunity to move and earn coins. Players can take their turn by rolling (dropping) the dice and move that corresponding number of spaces. You can roll numbers 1-10 and each number is equally likely. Each spot has a different effect on the game. Such spots can include receiving 3 coins, losing 3 coins, triggering a random event, triggering a duel, random fortunate event, random unfortunate event, opening/closing a path, receiving a movement item, or activating chance time. Coins can be won through minigames or landing on certain board spots. They can be used to buy items from a shop. There are two shops, and you can buy an item by walking past it and selecting the item you want to buy. Items can only be used prior to a roll. These items can be used to help you obtain stars or stop others from obtaining them. In addition to buying a star from the board, players can earn bonus stars by winning the most minigames, triggering the most events, moving the most spaces, or holding the most coins at one time. After all four players’ turns have been completed, a random minigame will occur allowing each player to earn coins by placing in the minigame.
Currently, there are three different gamemodes that players can play in.
Mini-game Mode
This gamemode allows for players to freely play any of the minigames or duel minigames. No scores are kept in this gamemode, and it can be ended at any time by starting either of the other two gamemodes.
First to Five Stars
The first player to obtain five stars wins the game and the placements are determined at that point. This gamemode includes live updated bonus stars. No two players can have the same bonus star. Players can earn bonus stars as the game goes on and lose them to other players as well. Bonus stars and board stars are both included when determining placement. A special event occurs after a minigame once the first player obtains four stars.
20 Turn Mode
This gamemode is strictly 20 turns. Bonus stars get awarded at the end of the last turn. Multiple players can tie for any of the bonus stars. Both bonus stars and board stars are included when determining placement. A special event occurs at the beginning of the last five turns.

There are a few other features to this map that were not mentioned above.
One feature is the gambling post. The gambler can bet on a minigame by choosing a specific minigame while passing the post. This will increase the reward for whoever gets first place. The gambler pays the most into the pot while forcing everyone to pay a small number of coins into the pot as well. If multiple minigames are being gambled on in one turn, the pot gets bigger, and the selection of the game will be a coin flip.
Another feature is the slot machine. This can be played whenever a player walks down that path. If the player successfully matches three of the items in a row, they win the corresponding prize.
The last feature on the board is the shooting challenge. You can spend 5 coins to play the shooting challenge where you have two arrows to shoot a flying target. If you hit the target with one of your shots, you get a net gain of 10 Coins.

Important Notes
- You don’t have to play the game all the way through in one sitting. If you want to pause gameplay, you are only allowed to stop at the beginning of any player’s turn. However, leaving during the middle of a minigame could mess the game up.
- If a player has connection issues during a minigame, you can drop the slimeball in your inventory which “voids” the current minigame in progress. Placement and scores will be lost, but the next turn will resume.
- You can cancel the game by dropping the barrier item that you get in your inventory during the board phase and clicking the message in chat. Only operators can cancel a game in progress.
- The last action you can do is skip any player’s turn. Only operators are allowed to do so. This is only meant to be used if players are stuck for any reason.

I should mention that our implementation is a bit different than a traditional Mario Party game(minigames generally take longer to play, there are more spots types, and some of our board events are unique, and more) so just a heads up.
I as well as the rest of the developers would appreciate if you went back and finished playing(you may have to cancel your current game) and we would also appreciate any kind of feedback that you have.
As for that spectator option it works, but it also can feel a bit too limiting on players since there are gonna be those that like to explore around the map you're on. Of course at the same time with spectators, have to limit where they go and such otherwise while not being able to have your hotbar accessed so there's always going to be a tossup on whether you prefer one side or the other.
I should be going back to playing it today because of a curious eye and knowing that we didn't know the proper start to the game. Will definitely give some feedback.
1) Hide and seek should tell people that the seeker will have an elytra. We also think the timer should be shorten given there's only 4 players and so many hiding spots (instead of 4 minutes, decreased down to 2 minutes & 30 seconds).
2) Gladiators uses 1.8 PvP combat and the only way that is indicated is if you're hovering in your inventory. We recommend either changing the main weapon to something that doesn't deal as much damage (like a custom hoe called a Scythe that does 3-4 damage) if you plan to keep it 1.8, or changing it to be 1.9 combat. (We much prefer 1.9 combat personally, much more fun)
3) In Runner there should be more of a countdown (3 seconds -> 5 seconds) before the game starts since you can instantly die if you're still not fully loaded in (even when you're teleported client sometimes doesn't register the game unless there's a visual in front of you like the number count down).
Asides from that we had a moderately okay time. We definitely prefer Super Voxel Party thanks to how fast the minigames are on it, the amount of map variety, the ease of how it is to play it, it being updated to the latest version, and how it's in Datapacks instead of Command Blocks (faster load times with Datapacks). Last one is more of a personal thing thanks to how maps have been progressing over the years.
Edit: Don't want to be taken the wrong way that this is a bad map. There's definitely a lot of promise and despite how crude it can be, we still had our laughs and fun moments within the game itself. I'm probably gonna play this again with the SVP creators since they seem to be interested in taking a look at the map themselves as well.
