Yes, I brought it back. Now with quicker kills, quicker reloading, and no mods required, I bring the beta version of the Creeper Killer! This glorious device spawns creepers, and gets them into a continuous feed of minecarts. It then kills them via suffocation, separates the gunpowder from the minecarts for collection, and reloads the minecarts.
WHY IT NO LONGER WORKS

The cannon used an advanced minecart system to deliver a feed of
minecarts off a stack. When a pig was called, it boosted a cart off the
stack. Notch has [:'(] apparently removed minecart side-bump physics to
fix the booster miracle
bug, so carts no longer boost off the stack. But wait? You're probably
saying "But ChrisPerson, you could have used powered rails instead! It
would make it so much faster!" Well that would work, except that when on
a track, minecarts just fall over on top of each other and form into
one minecart, where there really is several. With a pressure plate below
them, they stack properly.

Mob Laboratory - A large area with almost all mobs in Minecraft that can be selected, and 5 selectable kill methods
Creeper Factory 2.0 - Most similar to what's here, but not as good as the Laboratory. It kills creepers using piston suffocation. I would have used the old method, but water no longer pushes minecarts for some reason.
Or better yet, the Mob Laboratory!
